Try using Control plus Insert plus the letter F for Find. Then enter the phrase you want to find. If it doesn't come up on the first find try, press F3 to find again.

Hello All,
Can anyone tell me how they navigate the digest format of this list? I can find the info I want in the list, but it
involves a lot of "page down and arrow down" plus a great deal of time. I'm
looking for a way to go directly to the information I want.
I use Live Mail in Windows 7 with JAWS 12.
Thank you,

I'm using Trend Micro and I would give it a 60 percent mark on
accessibility. The worst part is that not even the JAWS cursor will
access what is not accessible.
If someone else is able to use it better, please enlighten me.

I've had this problem before. Since I use a Braille display, I can see that
the message is actually there, but JAWS isn't reading it. The problem is
that if you don't hit escape and reopen the message, JAWS won't
automatically read them anymore until you do. When this problem happens, try
using your arrow keys and see if the message is actually there.
Unfortunately, I don't know how to fix this.

I received little or no help with my question.

When I try and sort my incomeing e mail and hit the delete key on the six
pack sometimes the cursor will move to the next message in the list but more
often it will just stop.

In order to move to the next message I have to hit excape and the down
curser.

I get a lot of mail for which I have no interest and going through takes
much longer this way.

Again I have jaws 14 latest, latest windows live mail and i..e. 8.

Thanks,

Re: JAWS 15 not reading webpages when virtual cursor is activated

Adrian Spratt

No one who knows more than I do has replied, so I'll make three suggestions:

1. Go through your JAWS quick settings in case something there is contributing to the problem.

2. Since this is happening on your computer at work, try to find out if anything on the network is interfering with JAWS' ability to handle the Internet correctly.

3. Contact FS. I don't recall any post describing this problem before.

Dear List friends,

I have been facing a strange problem with JAWS 15 & Windows 7 at work & request your assistance in resolving the same.

Whenever I open any website in Internet Explorer 8 or Firefox 30 or Chrome, JAWS does not read anything on the webpage. But when I turn virtual cursor off & move through the webpage by pressing Tab, JAWS reads the webpage properly.

Request your kind assistance in making JAWS read the webpage with the virtual cursor activated.

Thanking you all in advance for any & all assistance.

As you can see from the price list below, the training is not free. Maybe
you can get VR or some other agency to sponsor you if no other training of
this type is available in your area.

JAWS Training Bundle is provided on a 4GB SD card and is available in one of
three formats.

a.. PLEXTALK Pocket DAISY player along with training bundle SD card, $995
b.. Victor Reader Stream DAISY player along with training bundle SD card,

c.. SD card only, $750
With over 50 hours of training, the cost per hour is $15.00 for quality JAWS
training done by the people who create JAWS.

Re: JAWS 15 .JCF file

Gary King

Petro,
It is safe as long as you are in the My Settings folder. If you have a .jcf file in there, it holds any settings that you have changed from the default settings. After it is deleted, you can make changes in JAWS settings while Internet Explorer is running, and another .jcf file will be created.

Hi folks! I have a flash drive with several folders and downloads of files

with where the flash drive shows up. It should show up as the E drive or G

different folder all together on my computer called Apps Fs1. It appears
that my drive has been renamed somehow. Why did this happen? Should I be
concerned about it?

Mike:

Use Windows Explorer.

Highlight the flash drive in question.

Press ALT+ENTER, to open the properties for the flash drive.

The cursor is autimatically placed in the edit field, at the end of any text which exists in the field. In addition, by default, the text is highlighted. If you wish to delete the text in the edit field and have no label at all for the flash drive, press the DEL key and press ENTER to save the change. To change the label for the flash drive, just start typing and the original text will be deleted and replaced by the new text.

HINT: if you decide not to have a label for the flash drive or, for any USB storage media for that matter, after you open Windows Explorer, press R. JAWS should tell you that, Devices with removable storage is open, then tell you the first removable storage device which is highlighted, plus the drive letter, for example, "Removable Disk (f:).

HTH

Sincerely:

Dave Durber

Subject: Need help with a flash drive.

Hi folks! I have a flash drive with several folders and downloads of files
including JFW, Magic etc, as I use these for my work. I am having an issue
with where the flash drive shows up. It should show up as the E drive or G
drive, or something like this. Instead, I find the drive contents under a
different folder all together on my computer called Apps Fs1. It appears
that my drive has been renamed somehow. Why did this happen? Should I be
concerned about it?

Re: JAWS 15 users test this website

Marianne Denning

I did try it out. I went down to the "next" button and I did get form
fields at that point. I did not go any further since I am not
interested in setting anything up. Just try that and see if you can
fill out the information.

Test this website. When at the website choose register now link and see if
you get any type of form fields / edit where you can enter text like numbers
and email address. Because I cannot do so with JAWS 15. With NVDA 2014.2 I
can enter text and do hear the form / edit fields. Simply amazing.

Thank you.
