Hi Judith,

Try this. When in Outlook route your jaws to Pc, "jaws key+-". Then do a
page down, and then a right mouse click. Down arrow through your selections
and check the ones you want with the enter key. Hth Denver Dale

I had an Outlook "mishap" and now I don't have the feature where Jaws tells
me how many messages I have in my inbox. It told me how many I had and how
many were unread. I accessed it with Jaws key 3 on the numerical keypad.
How can I get this back? Thanks, Judith

Re: uninstall Jaws 16

David Moore

Hi there,
the best way is to press Windows key + X and enter on programs and features. Arrow down to JAWS 16 and press the applications key. Press enter on uninstall and follow the prompts. You will be set. Take care. Just a note, if you are installing JAWS 17, I would keep JAWS 16 on your computer as well. I like to keep a back up installed. However, if you want to install JAWS 16, that is how you do it. Take care.

Dave...

Not sure you need to. Doesn't JAWS 16 already work with Windows 10? If you
have access to JAWS 17, then just install it by itself. Both versions can
coexist on the same computer.

Hi, Feliciano.

I understand your point about your clients' preference, but for me, the simplest way of getting to the font dialog is with control-shift-f or control-d. Both shortcuts do the same thing in a single keystroke-I have no idea why the duplication. Maybe your clients would like being spared some arrowing around!

Re: About changing jaws to say

Ron Worley Home <ron65@...>

I am assuming that you mean you would wish that JAWS speaks the word that
you typed once you press the spacebar. If so, then there is several ways
that you can do this; but, I am going to only include two.

This first way is temporary and it will change back when you close the
window you are in or switch to another one.
1. Hold down the JAWS key, (zero on the numpad)
2. tap the number 2 repeatedly, above the letter W, until you hear the
option you want it set at, then resume typing. The options are caricatures,
words, both caricatures and words or none.

The second option will change it to what you want and keep it saved until
you change it again or something abnormal happens.
1. Hold the JAWS key down again and tap the number six above the letter y.
2. You normally will land in a search box of the JAWS settings for the
program you are in currently. If you don't then you probably have to press
enter on the name that it is asked asking to make the changes. Press the
tab key to the ok button and press the spacebar.
3. If you want to make this change for all your programs, press the control
shift D command to set your change to the default for all programs. If not,
then skip this step.
4. Now tab once and it will say, "Tree view User Options, sub menu ."
5. Now right arrow once and down arrow twice to the options that says
"Typing echo Word", or whatever yours is set at that point.
6. Now press the spacebar to cycle through the same options that you got
with the command of JAWS 2 above the letter W.
7. When you have stopped on the one you want to set, then tab three times to
the ok button and press the spacebar.
Vwala.
Happy typing!

Hi Judith,

Try this. When in Outlook route your jaws to Pc, "jaws key+-". Then do
a page down, and then a right mouse click. Down arrow through your
selections and check the ones you want with the enter key. Hth Denver

I had an Outlook "mishap" and now I don't have the feature where Jaws
tells me how many messages I have in my inbox. It told me how many I had
and how many were unread. I accessed it with Jaws key 3 on the numerical
keypad.
How can I get this back? Thanks, Judith

I tried following those directions and got the regular Right Click
Context menu.

Bye for now,

Carolyn

JAWS Is Acting Strange!

Annabelle Susan Morison

Hi, it's Annabelle.
Sometimes, when I'm working in a document with Microsoft Word, and even
sometimes when I'm working on the Internet or recording music with Sonar, I
will go into the JAWS Window, and when I press the arrow keys, rather than
say "JAWS Version 10.0.1178U", it does this weird thing where it will say,
"JAWS Versioion 10.0.1178U". Has anyone ever experienced this scenario? It
seems the only thing I've done so far to make it go away is press Insert+F4
to unload JAWS, then my hotkey I've created (Control+Alt+Shift+J) to restart
it again. Sometimes, something strange happens when I press the hotkey to
restart JAWS, I'll get this unusual behavior where JAWS will open several
instances of itself on top of each other, so it sounds like JAWS is echoing
as if it's on multiple tape recorders. What's up with that? Does anyone know
how to fix it? If so, how would I fix it?
