I still wish that Microsoft would resurrect Internet Explorer, but first take out all the active x crap. I always disabled it as a first step anyway. JAWS has never supported any browser as well as it supported Internet Explorer.

Then there’s support. If you want to get NVDA support, you really have to rely on the community, but you can hit FS directly. Updates are also more frequent with JAWS, at least one a month now. All the best

Just efficiency really.
A simple example is reading Email in Outlook 365. JAWS will continue to read the whole Email as soon as you open it, but NVDA will only read the first line and give all that garbage about HTML document and stuff. NVDA is simply not as polished as JAWS. In fact, Narrator does a better job with outlook than NVDA.
Just my personal opinion, but I'd say if you're a home user, NVDA is fine, but when the rubber hits the road, JAWS has more chops.

Also, keeping the SMA's gives you greater flexibility as JAWS will
continue working for you on a version of Windows it no longer supports.
One doesn't always make decisions strictly on what is the cheapest;
often, decisions are based on what works best for a given person.
You are using smart thinking giving yourself the greatest flexibility
possible.
And, if you have no financial issues with that, why not sas you keep more
options open to yourself.

I have been having this problem too, I think it may have started around
the beginning of the year but my memory is foggy about it so I don't
know how far I'd go with that. I suspected that it might be something
running in the background that steals the focus to one of its controls,
then vacates the screen leaving JAWS with nothing to focus on. I've also
