Some time ago, probably a few months ago, Jaws stopped reading new output as it appears in the window. I can still get the current line by pressing Insert+8, or I can switch to Jaws cursor and read all the contents, but that's pretty inefficient, since I'd have to do it for every command that I type. Is this a bug in Jaws or is there a magic checkbox in Jaws settings that I need to check to make it to work? I know there is one workaround for this: turning one "Use legacy console" checkbox in command prompt options solves the issue. Hi all
Wanted inputs on the following basic problems with Word. 1. While I wish to make the headings bold or underlined, it sometimes happens that the subsequent text also appears in bold or underlined form. I mean pressing Ctrl + U or B doesn't always yield results as JAWS repeatedly says 'Bold on'. Also if we wish to read a document, how to effectively ascertain whether the document is underlined or bold. 2. Any key command to get rid of all the footnotes from the document at once. 3. Key command to get back to the document text after reading the footnote. Best Turab |

Hello, everyone.
This morning, I just discovered a major problem with Outlook 2016 when originating an e-mail.
When I start a new e-mail with control N, I can no longer type a contact address into the “to” field. When I do this, I get kicked out of my new e-mail, and get placed back into my inbox.
Interestingly, I can go to my contacts list, and copy and paste the e-mail address into the to field with no problem. I can also reply to e-mails with no problem.
Once again, the issue occurs when originating an e-mail and trying to access someone in my contacts list.
I am using Jaws 18, Outlook 2016 with Office 365, and Windows 7 here.
Has anyone recently experienced this issue, and if so, have you found a fix?
I am eligible to upgrade to Jaws 2018, and will do so when I get the chance.
However, in the meantime, I’d like to be able to quickly originate e-mails in the usual way if at all possible.

I hope that helps, Richard From: main@jfw.groups.io [mailto:main@jfw.groups.io] On Behalf Of Rick Miller Sent: Tuesday, November 7, 2017 3:04 AM To: main@jfw.groups.io Subject: Using JAWS to Download a Book from a Particular Web Site Dear Listers: Are any of you familiar with Audio Book Ministries, also known as Tape Ministries for the Blind? They have an online accessible library from which their books can be downloaded, but doing it using JAWS is very hard. Their address is: https://nam03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.audiobookministries.org&data=02%7C01%7Cmrb620%40hotmail.com%7C286abebe022b47204d7308d52739345a%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C636458048994177241&sdata=9J4bMuicyhxNDuCxVH6K%2Bd1KnfZyhUIw7lOtl7hbUbA%3D&reserved=0 <https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.audiob ookministries.org&data=02%7C01%7Crichardturner42%40outlook.com%7Cfbcb94a19a6 148d9e6c508d525cf6dbd%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C636456495 182633796&sdata=%2FvJrc2Yfll1LoqCNZDxyLtj2CQMHV7m3VJT2I0fsdzY%3D&reserved=0> Right now the employee they have who is knowledgeable about screen readers and about JAWS is on medical leave and they don't know when he will be back again. So if any of you are familiar with this particular web site and maybe, by chance, might have downloaded a book from it, would you please be so kind as to access it and figure out how it can be done using JAWS? You don't have to sign in to do this-at least not for the help I am asking for. Just go to the web page and find the "Online Library Access," link and hit the Enter key. Then if you just find any book, try to figure out how to get to the page where the book can be downloaded. When you get to the page that has the book description, you'll see there is no direct link to download the book. There is a "downloads," link but it will not take you to the "download," page for the book you wish to download. Instead, it takes you to the page where there are various things that can be downloaded, such as the AudioBook Ministries tax summary and various other things not at all related to the book you wish to download. When you find a book, just tell me how to use JAWS to get to the book's download page. Thanks for any help you can give. Rick Miller |

I'm making this app that is designed with the Qt widgets and C++ Programming Language, and I'm wondering, how would I create what JAWS describes as a tutor message? Would that be the same as creating a QToolTip? A QLabel? A QWhatsThis? I'm asking this because I have somebody helping me on the Qt Forum via Chat, a guy by the username of SGaist, and he says he only has a virtual machine with Windows 10. Is it possible for me to have a link where I can direct him to a basic test version of JAWS that only requires a minimum amount of space, so he can test out the parameter that I want to create in my app? That is, the tutor message parameter? . |

Hi there. I've tried TypeAbility. It's the best one in my opinion but a little pricy.

Yes, I have experienced this problem with Outlook crashing when trying to enter a contact address into the "to field". In fact, I have posted a quiry about this on this list.

The problem just started occurring within the past few days. An Outlook repair has been suggested, but I have not tried that yet. Also, am going to see if the problem occurs with NVDA. If anyone else has experienced this problem and has a fix, please let us know. I'm not sure if it's a Jaws or a Microsoft problem. Dr. Tom Behler from Michigan -----Original Message-----

However, when I hit the first letter, outlook closes. Has anyone ever experienced this? Thanks. |
