Re: Need Steps For Adding Bookmarks In Google Chrome

Sorry, Adrian.
I still can’t get this to work.
I pressed the alt key, waited a second, and then did the down arrow followed by B., and I still get into some Google Chrome search dialog.
At least I can do everything I need with the control D. command.

Hello, everyone.
Can someone send me a set of steps for adding bookmarks in the Google Chrome browser?
I access my bookmarks list via Alt F, followed by B., but can’t seem to find where to add a bookmark for a particular web site.
I previously imported my bookmarks from Internet Explorer into Google Chrome, but only need to add one bookmark at this time.
I also am not sure I can access my Internet Explorer favorites any more.
I’m using Windows 10 here with Jaws 2022 and, I believe, the latest version of Google Chrome.
Any help with this would be appreciated.
Thanks!

First off to get to the notification press Windows+A, then press tab until you get to the Windows Security notification, it will say that it is collapsed, press enter to expand it, then press down arrow to read it. You can then press tab to get to the buttons to take action.

Re: System Tray Windows Security - Actions recommended. Button
Marty,
You should be able to get Windows Security to open, which is where the actions you need to take will be covered, by hitting WinKey + B, right arrowing to the Windows Security Button, and hitting Enter. Even when no actions are needed, doing this will cause Windows Security to open, but there will be nothing in any one of the categories with regard to actions. I don't have an "actions needed" message active at the moment, so I can't get any more specific. -- Brian - Virginia, USA - Windows 10, 64-Bit, Version 21H2, Build 19044 Puritanism: The haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy. ~ H.L. Tom,
In light of your exchange with Robin, it does sound as though some code has crept into the document that JAWS doesn’t verbalize in Word but does do so when it’s a PDF. In a case like this, I’d be tempted to go back to the original Word file, copy the contents into Notepad, then copy them into a blank Word document. Then I’d redo the PDF conversion. That process usually eliminates unwanted codes and verbalizations.
It would depend on how accurate you want the file to be in terms of formatting, etc.

Hello, everyone, one more time.
Today must be my day for Jaws-related questions.
I just converted a Microsoft Word document to a PDF file, and used Adobe Acrobat DC to read the file. Jaws keeps saying “MC-ref graphic” between each line of the file.
I have no idea what this means, and how to get rid of it.
Interestingly, this is the first time I have seen this vehavior, and I don’t see it with several PDF files that I recently converted.
I wonder if it is something with the file itself.
Any thoughts on this issue would be appreciated.
Thanks for putting up with all my quiries today.

Shot in the dark here, but could it be that you have the paragraph symbols turn on in that document? I’m not sure if they would show up if you then converted to PDF. I’ve accidentally turned them on in the past.
