Hi, Tom. There is no quick way to apply bullets in a list. The way it works is this, when you start a list, and press ENTER to go to the next line to put the next list item, the first item in the list will be bulleted, and so forth. This only works if bullets are turned on in the proofing>autocorrect menu.

The command to change text to a heading works like this, if you write some text on a line, then select that line, ALT plus CONTROL plus 1 on the numbers row, not the NumPad, will create a heading one. ALT plus CONTROL plus 2 will create a heading two, etc.

Subject: Question about Bullets and Headings

Hello,

I'm trying to format a document using Microsoft Word 365, and I am
wanting to bullet a couple of lists and use some headings, like
heading 1, 2, and 3.
I found the bullets in the ribbons, but is there a quick keyboard
command to apply them? I can't find it anywhere. And, I thought there
was a key stroke for the headings and subheadings as well, like Alt 1
or Alt 2 or something like that.
Am I off here?

Hi, Mona. I know nothing about a "playroom" program. The link you gave us is a YouTube link to a video. There is nothing to install here. I just used my browser with the link. What is this "playroom" program supposed to do? I need more information.

Thank you.

To create a voice profile:

1) Bring up the jaws menu (<jaws>+j)
2 Go to Options -> Voices -> Voice adjustment
3) Select an existing profile
4) Alter settings as desired
5) Either save the profile with a new name using Save As (alt+s) or
under the existing name by using Apply (alt+a) or Ok (enter)

If you assigned a new name and want to use it bring up the Select a
Voice Profile dialog (<jaws>+ctrl+s) and then either set the profile
as default or you can set a program-specific profile (the program
needs o have been focused when you brought up the dialog for this to
work).

I do something like what you are after by having a voice profile that
uses Eloquence as my normal default but then having another that uses
vocalizer for programs that I am actually likely to listen to long
passages. (I.E Firefox, Word, wordpad, edsharp).

I have eloquence set so fast that if I actually try using it for say
all after a bit its buffering is complete and the speed kicks up
another notch and I can no longer understand it.

Hi,

If you are using the latest JAWS 2022 then you can switch temporarily to the default settings, to find out is this related to JAWS or not.

To do that in JAWS 2022

Press JAWS key + space bar.

Then z

If the problem persist, then it is not from JAWS

To restore your settings, press again INS+Space, then z

If you do not have the latest JAWS, you can cut all files from your user settings folder to a temporary folder for a second to check is it a setting or a script, what causes that.

Second possible solution. Maybe you have accidentally turned-on mouse keys in settings.

To turn mouse keys off (I have here Windows 11. I can not check in Windows 10)

Open Windows settings (Win+i)

Search for

Mouse keys

Or move to Accessibility option, open it (enter)

Move to Mouse option, open it (Enter)

Tab to Mouse keys option. If is turned on, turn it off with space bar

No more ideas unfortunately

Artur

Hi all, thanks for all the suggestions but none worked. I spent almost an hour on the phone with Microsoft disability yesterday, but he couldn’t get it to work either. It is certainly strange that it works when locked, but not when unlocked. I miss the jaws and pc cursors. Any other possible suggestions would be appreciated. Judy & Libby

Hi,

You can choose a different sound chard in Zoom audio options or in JAWS Insert+j, Utilities menu, Sound chards. I would suggest that you use Zoom options. This is a bit more complicated but works better because JAWS works better with default option.

Hi,

I’m using the most recent versions of windows10, Jaws2022 and Zoom. When I go into Zoom I get the message about splitting Jaws and the speaker. Prior to the most recent version of Jaws2022, I have no problem with Just me hearing Jaws through an ear bud and the other people on the Zoom call coming through the speakers. Now Jaws and people talking on the zoom call play through the speaker and Jaws is also spoken in the ear bud.

Is there a way to only have Jaws come through the ear bud and those on the Zoom call through the speaker and not hearing Jaws?

Thanks,

Kevin

Hello:

It was my understanding that left/right is not the issue but rather that JAWS is coming through earbuds and speaker. I might suggest checking the JAWS sound settings under Utilities, Sound Card.

Kindly,

May I suggest contacting FS Technical Support? If this was caused by the latest JAWS update, thay might be able to help you work around this problem.
