Val, I haven't gotten into this thread yet, but I feel like I have to now. This list is for asking questions to solve problems we all have from time to time. I am not near the computer whiz that Gene or a number of others are on this it. But, I do know this. They are no better than you or I are. We all need help from time to time. You don't have to feel embarrassed to ask for it. you aren't dumb. You aren't stupid. All you want is help solving a problem or sometimes more than one problem. So what. We all need help, so don't be afraid to ask for help. And from time to time as = you get better on the computer, you can help someone with a problem you once had.

Inquiry about POS solution called LS One Retail
Sieghard Weitzel <sieghard@...>
Hi,
Not sure how many people are into retail and POS solutions, but I thought it won’t hurt to ask. I am looking at a new POS solution for my retail store and came across LS One Retail. I was told that this is pretty strong in Europe and that they are pushing into North America. I am in Canada and have been using Microsoft RMS (Retail Management Solution) which is also known as “Store Operations” since 2006. RMS support and development was discontinued in 2016 and while the software runs pretty well for the most part and will most likely be used by many a business many years from now, I am looking at a replacement. The most direct replacement is called Retail Management Hero (RMH) and is being distributed by a company called Retail Realm. I was on their beta program early last year and the application was released in June last year, but unfortunately the interface for both the POS module as well as the back office Management module is not very accessible at all. At first it sounded as if the developer/programmer was quite interested in working on accessibility, but of course they had bigger fish to fry in the first year since release, features were added and so on and at this point it would appear that they are not so interested any more in investing a bunch of resources for one lonely little Sieghard whom they would gain as a user. LS One Retail does have the ability to import the SQL database from RMS as well so hopefully this would result in a pretty easy transition, but the other main issue is that they as well as RMH both work with the Nitrosell eCommerce platform. My current website/online store is done by Nitrosell since they developed an application which connects my old Microsoft RMS database with the webstore and automatically uploads all items I mark as “Available on the web” and any weborders are downloaded to the POS, it works great. I am not very interested in switching to a different platform/provider for my website at this point since I have invested a fair bit into Nitrosell’s solution and I’m happy with what they do. If anybody has heard about LS One Retail or even might have any knowledge about its accessibility I’d love to hear about it. I just downloaded the 14-day trail version which apparently is fully functional for 2 weeks so I will of course find out, but I thought it wouldn’t hurt asking on the list about it.
Regards, Sieghard

An Excel Question
Joe DiNero
Good Evening
A quick question on Excel. I am prefacing this by saying that I was a low vision user before so I am not sure you can do this with JAWS. I work sometimes with big spreadsheets where changes at the top have an impact on cells in the bottom and when I am verifying that all formulas are correct I used to use a split screen. Is there a way to navigate back and forth between those screens with a JAWS keystroke? There is a workaround that I can do by making copies of the workbook but if I can use the split screen I would prefer it.
Thanks for any help

If an original thread’s content has changed from its subject line, then it’s petered out. Nothing wrong with starting a new thread reflecting this change rather than only changing the subject line on a dead one only making it harder to sort or filter out or what have you later.

There are a couple of easier steps to achieve a faster running PC at start up. Someone did suggest a re install of windows, but if you're running windows 10, which I think from a previous post about something else you said you were you can just reinstall windows without formatting or creating USB drives etc , it’s a really straight forward thing to do using windows 10. The other thing you can do is stop the start up programs running when your PC starts. Again there are a couple of ways to do this and some are quite straight forward. I haven't been following this post so not sure if someone has already suggested these fixes or whether you've sorted the problem yet, but if you haven't let me know and I'd be happy to help Paul

outlook settings message
Richard Turner <richardturner42@...>
Greetings,
I'm hearing a message from time to time in Outlook 2016 that says your outlook to settings are out of date. I have an office 365 subscription. Before I call microsoft, could someone tell me how to click on a notification message in Windows 10 with Jaws 2018? I've tried windows-key-n, which I thought I had read on here, but that doesn't work. Re; changing subject lines
Richard Turner <richardturner42@...>
Hi Carolyn, If someone is using threading, or conversations, just changing the subject line doesn't change how the message is treated. It will still show up in conversations/threads under the original subject.
To truly change a thread/conversation you have to start a brand new message. That is what I did with this message.
For me, I've missed some messages because someone simply changed the subject line on a thread I was no longer interested in, and so I deleted the messages and only found out later, that I could have helped or been helped by the new topic.
I hope that comes across as trying to be helpful and not as a criticism. It is so difficult to communicate without voice tones, etc. I truly only mean this as a clarifying message.
