Hi Murray,
Just a shot in the dark, but maybe turning off
virtual cursor with insert + Z while in the spreadsheet would help.

Subject: Google office and xlsx documents Hi there, My work colleagues have asked me to do some work with them on a shared document. This takes the form of an xlsx document that appears to open in some kind of Google office online much like a web page. Normally I have no problem navigating a spreadsheet however the controls on this shared document are confusing me. The document opens with Jaws seemingly bouncing in out of forms several times, I can tell this by the Jaws noises to indicate such. I sometimes find myself in the main document but more often that not I am stuck in some tool bar and can find no logical way of getting out of it.
I was wondering if anyone successfully uses these sort of things and what tips you may have.
The document also appears to slow down Jaws navigation. For example, I would normally jump from one cell to the next with automatic response whereas with this document sometimes it can take a second or so to pop to the next cell Any help most welcome, it is sort of doing my head in J

Re: JAWS and column titles in excel?
Ann Byrne
JAWS supports more than one set of titles in a sheet.
If your last cell to be included were f8, 1. Place the cursor at the beginning of the row of column titles. 2. use the applications menu to locate "define name dot-dot-dot" and press enter. then type "columntitle..f8" To set titles for a second region, be sure to include the ending cell in the bookmark. Good luck! For a slightly more in depth explanation go to https://www.freedomscientific.com/training/jaws/additional-jaws-training-downloads/ and check out the link that says * <https://support.freedomscientific.com/content/downloads/daisy/ExcelColumnAndRowHeadersJAWS.exe>Excel Column and Row Headers (DAISY)

JAWS and column titles in excel?
Gene Warner
Along the same lines as a previous topic about this but with a twist.
I have a spreadsheet that has a couple of tables in it. Is it possible to get JAWS to read the column titles based on which table I am in? Or does JAWS only support one set of titles in each sheet. Thanks! Gene...

No controversy, in the past the JAWS installer was self voiced, it did not need a screen reader running to have a voice.

Hmmm... I guess that's kind of in line with them dropping support for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1, which all had very anemic version of Narrator.

You can absolutely copy in kindle. Select the text you want to copy. Press control c as you normally would to copy. It will put you in an area of check boxes you can arrow through to select different highlight colors. Ignore this unless you want to highlight. If you hit tab once you can add a note. If you tab again you land on a copy button. Press it. You can now paste the text where ever you wish, and kindle includes information that sights your book for you.
