Hello:

It was my understanding that left/right is not the issue but rather that JAWS is coming through earbuds and speaker. I might suggest checking the JAWS sound settings under Utilities, Sound Card.

Kindly,

Curtis Chong

Hi,

I’m using the most recent versions of windows10, Jaws2022 and Zoom. When I go into Zoom I get the message about splitting Jaws and the speaker. Prior to the most recent version of Jaws2022, I have no problem with Just me hearing Jaws through an ear bud and the other people on the Zoom call coming through the speakers. Now Jaws and people talking on the zoom call play through the speaker and Jaws is also spoken in the ear bud.

Is there a way to only have Jaws come through the ear bud and those on the Zoom call through the speaker and not hearing Jaws?

Thanks,

Kevin

May I suggest contacting FS Technical Support? If this was caused by the latest JAWS update, thay might be able to help you work around this problem.

Hi Brian. You are absolutely correct, I confused myself.

First...I was trying to say that I had gone into the settings to see if the Meet me  for Cortana was shut off and it was. But now it is still showing up all the time, meaning Cortana. I have tried turning off computer, restarting, but it is still there. Hope this clears that up.
Sorry to go to another question right after that about the clipboard but I was carrying on...sorry but thanks for input.

Basically, as I understand it, the NLS E-reader is a Braille display that is gradually being made available to anyone who currently is registered with the NLS/BARD service.

They are being distributed by state, and we hope to get ours in Michigan by the end of the year.

Hello, everyone.

I realize this is probably off topic for this list, so please reply to me directly at:

tombehler@...

I have tried to download and save the following YouTube video review of the  NLS E-reader using Pontes Media Downloader, and am experiencing extremely slow download speeds.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLZa712e5mM

These very slow download speeds occur when I try to save the original video, when I try saving the video in an MP4 video format, and when I save it as an MP3 audio only file.

I’d like to save this video for future reference, so it is available when I hopefully receive my nLS E-reader in a few months.

I’m currently using Pontes Media Downloader version 2.5041.

I typically don’t experience such slow download speeds, so I don’t think the issue is with my internet service provider.

I wonder if others are having a similar issue with Pontes Media Downloader??

Thanks for any help.

Hi, Albert. It is a braille display which you can borrow from your local NLS regional library, if your state is cooperating with NLS to distribute the reader. It allows a patron of NLS BARD to download and read braille books from BARD. The files end in a .brf extension, specifying that they are in braille-ready format.

David,

I notice that no one has replied to your query, so I'll chime in with my recollection of how to handle this situation. For the record, I find there's rarely any useful information available via these "hover" (known more formally as "mouseover") controls, but sometimes there can be. Note that I can't test what I'm about to write because I don't have any mouseover items in front of me.

So, keep focus at the spot where JAWS has alerted you to hover. Press control-JAWS key-numpad enter, all three at the same time.
JAWS will announce that a change has been made at a certain line number.
Press j followed by that number. JAWS will read the change.
To return to your original location, press shift-j.

I hope this is accurate and, if so, that it helps.

Hi guys:

I am using goldwave to edit mp3 files.

When I move the start and finish markers around,

Jaws is telling me where they left from, not what their positions are when
they land.

So,

If my start marker is set at the beginning of the file,

The start marker will be at 0.000 seconds.

If I ove the marker with shift+right arrow, it should say 0.100 seconds as I
move by one tenth of a second;

Instead jaws says 0.000 seconds, (the place it was before I moved the
marker.

It is like Jaws needs to wait to tell me where the markers are only after
the markers settle down.

I hope this makes sense to you all.
