Hi
Maria,
I don't use
TBird, but have you checked to see if your Status Bar is checked / turned
on? If it isn't, that could be the problem.

Re: JAWS 16 is getting hanged with Firefox 56
Randy Barnett <randy@...>
Hi, You have to have Jaws 18 that was just released this morning or stay with Fire Fox pre v55. There have been major changes to the way FF works and that requires changes in the Screen readers too.

JAWS 16 is getting hanged with Firefox 56
Mohith BP
Hi,
Each time when I open any site in firefox if any notifications such as password remember, notification push, etc., pops up JAWS gets frozen in turn it makes FireFox unresponsive. This issue is seen after installing Adobe Connect addon and updating Flash. I removed all the Adobe flash players and Adobe Connect installations and reinstalled Firefox. However the issue has not been resolved. PS: Repairing JAWS also did not help. Currently JAWS 16.0.4474 with Firefox 56 (64 bit) is running on Windows7 64 bit. Please let me know is there any solution for the same. Thanks & Regards, Mohith B. P.

Lee Maschmeyer
I use Wiktionary, the one from Research It: Insert+Space, R, [word], Home. It can get wordy at times but you can get out of it with Escape.

Re: Does anyone know of a Dictionary compatible with JAWS?
I've always liked the onelook.com multi-dictionary search. Since it's a webpage and the results are links to the definitions in various dictionaries it works reasonably well with screen readers, though some of the online dictionaries themselves have more (or less) accessibility friendly pages. You quickly figure out which one or ones are your "go to"s.

Re: Web Browser Accessibility And A Keyboard Shortcut Related Questions And Vocalizer Expressive
Sieghard Weitzel <sieghard@...>
I suggest you simply download Chrome and give it a try, it's free after all and for the most part you'll find it much the same as IE, all the same quick nav keys work and you can arrow down the page and Jaws will read it with the virtual cursor just as IE. You may find a few sites where if Chrome doesn't read certain information going back to IE will work and that's perfectly fine as IE won't go away any time soon.

Thanks for answering my questions. The only reason I'm trying to stay away from Ie is that it's going out since Microsoft is not updating it so often other than security Updates. Firefox I heard was kind of laggy and Microsoft Edge isn't fully accessible yet. So I'm left with Chrome. Secondly what would I see with Jaws when a page is loaded and I don't press Insert + F7 to bring up the links list? Once I press Insert + F7 is pressed what do I have to do to bring up the previwhs screen? Is there a way so that I can go on the Nuance site with my iPhone and listen to their vocalizer? itunes
marvin hunkin <startrekcafe@...>
Hi. Got three podcast feeds, and itunes 12.7 running windows 10 64 bit pro. Now, I cannot seem to download the entire list, and have to check all or table, and then check the unplayed podcasts, and when I go into settings, have to set it to then download and then have to select all. And why is the subscribed check box not checked and when I try to check that with space bar in jaws, does not do that. Any ideas. Thanks.
