Hi all,
I'm hoping someone might be able to help me. I just tried signing up for a
newsletter and everything was going grate until I came across a validation code
which is supposed to be entered in a box. There's no checkbox or anything, no
option for an audio challenge or anything, just a link to re-set the code. I've
tried signing up for this using Edge, Firefox and Google Chrome, and I even
tried turning on Narrator and I still wasn't able to read the validation code,
and I don't have a smartphone. Any idea how I might be able to read this code,
or am I going to have to get sighted help? I can provide the link if that would
help... Really hope someone can help me!!!!!! Running the latest versions of
everything. Thanks

Hi,

You have 3 choices,

1. Ask someone sighted to help you if they are there with you;

2. Use the free service of Be My Eyes with a smart phone that has a camera;

3. The paid services of Aira, again with the use of a smart phone with a camera.

Hello,

I have only looked so far at the audiovault.net site, they sure have a great selection of movies on this site! If a person wants to download any of these movies from the audiovault.net site, is there maybe a cost to download each movie? or is there maybe a monthly membership fee? Any help I can maybe get with this would be so very much appreciated! Much, much thanks in advance for any possible help with this.

If you looked at the site it should be clear that first of all you need to register, secondly they clearly state "No video is hosted on this site. Nobody profits from this endeavour. It operates on donations from the small userbase purely in order to maintain the site."

Furthermore there is a "Support the AudioVault" link which allows you to make a donation via PayPal so you can donate a couple of bucks, $20 or $100, I'm sure if all they are looking for are donations to pay for the server, the cost of the domain and so on any donation of even $2 or $5 is welcome and if 100 people donate $5 then this probably goes a long way towards covering their cost.

Best regards,

Sieghard

The other thing that seems to be an issue, although I didn’t spend a lot of time trying to figure it out since I couldn’t actually record, is the availability of content on my slides. So, it doesn’t seem like I can have access to my slide content to read while I’m actually doing the recording.

Is there any way to read or get access to those dates? Thanks.

I have a section on my web site with Audio description resources, including the ones you know plus links to tv listings, movies, you can purchase through Amazon; and one resource I have not seen mentioned yet.

I am about to sign up for or contribute wherever I need to.

Thanks,

Hi,

We are still uploading shows on audiovault.net. If you find one that is on blindmice and not on audiovault let me know and I'll sort that issue out.

The movie vault on that site has been up and down periodically over
the last year. I kind of stopped using it. For a while it looked like
they lost their sendspace account where they were obviously uploading
the material. I guess they have it back now but they did seem to lose
a lot of content. It looked like they were slowly adding it back.

Hi,
Audiovault.net actually offers Mp3 movies and shows, but there are not
nearly as many as Blind Mice Mart has. I, too, am looking for other
free sites.

Richard, do you know how much a subscription is for Blind Mice?

Sincerely,
Jasmine

When the Blind Mice Mall Movie Vault uses direct download it works great.

If you have to use the free SendSpace download it is a pain.

If you buy a subscription for say 1 month to the high speed download
with Sendspace, it works well.

As for other sites, I know of none that have mp3 files with audio
description like what Blind Mice Mall offers.

Then, you are left with finding movie or TV shows for rent or purchase
that include Audio Description or subscribing to services like Netflix
who provide audio description on all their original content, or Disney
Plus which offers a lot of movies and series with audio description.

The best source for finding out what shows have audio description is
through ACB.

The Audio Description Project (ADP) (acb.org)

Does anyone know the sites which are accessible for movies which have
audiodescription?

It seems as if the blind mice mall does not work os well, or at least,
it didn't the last time I visited it.

Thanks,

Justin
