Annual is better because assuming you keep JAWS up to date, it takes at least 40 years before the annual license becomes more expensive than the perpetual license.

That being said, I have a perpetual license because when I purchased JAWS the annual license wasn't yet available.

So did this just start recently?

Ctrl-f or f3, search string, enter, escape – works as it always did here on Windows 10. Definitely a very necessary part of notepad. You are using the regular notepad that came with windows, right?

I prefer the SMA, I stay caught up with the new releases. Here in US I try to upgrade during the convention time in July and get a reduced price for the SMA. This year it was $120 for 2 years. Original Message -----

Hi, Daniel. I prefer the SMA over the annual license, even though the SMA is a little more expensive for me ($160 for two years). That works out to about $80 per year, which is actually less than the annual license. That, however is not the main reason that I prefer to remain with the SMA than to purchase the annual license. The main reason I prefer the SMA is that, if for any reason, I am unable to purchase the SMA on time, my version of JAWS remains in paid, full capability mode, rather than reverting to demo mode. If, on the other hand, one has purchased the annual license, and is unable to pay the next yearly fee on time, their version of JAWS will revert to demo mode within a month. If I discover that the newer versions of JAWS aren't adding anything of benefit to me, I like knowing that I can stay with my current version of JAWS without having to buy an SMA or an annual license, without suffering the reversion to demo mode as soon as I stop paying.

Justin,
On the keyboard it is the same physical key. It isn’t until you get into word processing that it really becomes something different. For example when you use it between two words then it is a hyphen, but there are different types of dashes. All of that is irrelevant for this conversation, just an FYI.
In Google there are all kind of tricks when searching. For example if you want to search a site for something you would use the “site” keyword. i.e. site://amazon.com dell Inspiron in the URL
That would only search Amazon.com for all occurrences of “Dell Inspiron”. There are actual classes on how to properly use Google and how to use it to your advantage.

If you arrow down after the first results are shown, sometimes there are buttons you can use to adjust what you are looking for. Below that are page numbers. Go to the number 2 to get to page 2. You are on page 1.

Denise,

Not much help, but I tried search with control-f and also JAWS key-control-f after reading your message with the same result. The only tip I can offer is that I got out of the dialog by pressing the alt key twice. Search would take me to a weird menu. As a result, I didn’t need to open and reopen Notepad.

Something else I like to check is the date of the entry. With me, going back much past 3 years isn't very relevant. But I agree, the first page is usually filled up by those paying for SEO placement.

Hi Denise,
This is not a jaws command.
You just do control F.
If you are using insert with it, you are just searching the screen, and not the document.
