it was possible with alt+prt sc in Windows 7?

WinKey + PrtSc takes a full screen screenshot and places it in the
Pictures\Screenshots folder.  It will take the screenshot of whatever
arrangement is active on the screen at the time.  If you want a specific
program to be "front and center" then make sure you've placed focus on
it via ALT+TAB and, possibly, maximized it if necessary.

Presuming the Favorites plugin is what its name implies, which would make Firefox look to the MS Favorites rather than its own bookmarks, then you can most likely tell Chrome to import from IE when you install, as it has no idea how Favorites got created, but can import from same with ease.

Personally I don't find Firefox Bookmarks to be all that terrible if you get used to keeping the Bookmarks Manager open in its own window which, oddly enough will be entitled "Library," and use that.

Of course, since every browser out there now remembers both the browser page title along with the URL, you can very often get where you're going by just entering part of either the page title or the URL and then down arrowing through the options presented below the address box.  That's often far faster than hunting through Bookmarks in any browser.

Hi Annabelle,

Firstly thank you very much indeed for the excellent scenario suggestions. I'll pass these along and hopefully we can begin to get some of these created for you!

Before we go any further, for some reason your emails seems to have caught by our spam filter and diverted, I'm not exactly sure why although I've passed the information on to our Webhosts to see if they can figure out the cause. Do you use a non standard email client by any chance? I've added your email address to our exception list now so I'm hoping there shouldn't be a problem in future.

I'm trying to work my way through your previous emails and hopefully can address those also.

Regarding the tutorials, there is no sound in them, the information is presented in text form I'm afraid. I can understand why this is a problem for you now though. As far as I'm aware you are our only blind customer, so this hasn't been an issue before.

The interface itself is quite complicated so I'm not sure we could make it JAWS compatible ( it would probably take 6 months or so even if it were ). I'm really sorry about that but we simply don't have the resources to do this. I'll pass the information along though and see if we can come up with some kind of workable solution for you. Maybe we can create another audio based soundscape product from scratch which would interface with JAWS.

I'm going to ask for another CD to be sent out to you and ask our distributors to contact you when the CD is dispatched ( this should be within 48 hours ).

Warm regards,

Danielle

I'm actually talking about making something like an accessible version of Atmosphere Deluxe. Originally, the program, made by Vectormedia Software, was created with Visual Basic 6.0. Unfortunately, they made a lot of the controls so that JAWS speaks them identically (JAWS says "Graphic 0"), despite the fact that some are buttons, and some are sliders. It recognizes the checkboxes just right. Also, the colors are mostly "Black on Black", so I can't tell where I'm pointing to, as the company didn't exactly design it with screenreader compatibility in mind. You can download and test Atmosphere Deluxe here: http://www.vectormediasoftware.com/atmdeluxedown.htm. The next email I'm sending is one that Vectormedia Software sent me back in May of 2010, when I first asked them about accessibility. This is what inspired me to perhaps partner with them to redesign their interface from scratch.

Hi, it's Annabelle.
I'm not sure how to put this, so for now, I'll just make it short and sweet. I want to design a user interface that is accessible to both sighted and blind folks alike, and I'm wondering, what is the perfect way to design the controls so they look like those found on the browser of the Windows Operating System? Also, how do you change colors for foreground and background so they'll be recognized when the button or control is navigated to by either the PC Cursor or the JAWS cursor, then press JAWSKey+5? For example, I want to make a button that is "Light Sky Blue" on "Forest Green". How would I program those parameters? Is there a way to make the program in a plain text editor like Notepad? Specifically, I'm making a program where you can toggle sounds by checking/unchecking checkboxes, and load them by pressing "Open" buttons in each slot. You can then adjust the Volume, Volume Range, Rate Of Change, and L/R Balance with sliders. There'll be left-right sliders for the "L/R Balance" slots, and Up/Down Sliders for the "Volume", "Volume Range", and "Rate Of Change" slots. I'm also wanting to put other common controls like Radio Buttons, "Open" dialogs, Listboxes, Dials, and other user-friendly controls.

As an example, when I put in the job title music producer, I get other results other than what i'm searching for. I don't know if anyone has had this problem. Hi,

Try using the paste feature in the context menu Shift + F10 or app key. For best results, choose one of the paste option. That usually works for me.

Hello Groups,

My financial web site has important information in a table with 5 columns and 30 rows. This would fit on a single page if I could print only the table. I would like to select, copy and paste it into Word and then print it, with the columns and rows preserved.

The Web page has a “Print Page” button but it prints all of the 4 pages.

I know that Jaws uses the virtual cursor in order to simplify readability. This means that each column item is on a separate line.

I have tried these 2 Quick Setting options (for Firefox 52ESR):

Select and copy from the virtual cursor

and

Select and copy full content using onscreen highlight

Using both settings, I have selected from the beginning of the table, using shift plus down-arrow, to select 30 rows, and then copying to the clipboard. 30 is not enough for the whole table but just enough for sample purposes.

Pasting the clipboard into Word results in each column entry on a separate line.

Is there a way to select and copy only the table and have it appear in Word as a multi column table?

If this is possible, then Word would probably print it in a table structure.

Is there another way without using Word?

Thanks,

Peter T.

If it’s like in Outlook 2010, you can use Control E to get to the search box, then type in some words that you think are in the email and or sender.  Hit Enter than tab a couple times back to the list view to see the search results.

Jaws blankety-blanking happens to me sporadically. The only solution I have found is to unload Jaws and restart it. This is infuriating since it wastes time and shreds my train of thought for whatever I was working on. Then there are the times when Jaws just stops working altogether…. These glitches need fixes!

Hi,

I get the same issue from time to time.  Occurred today in Word 2016 (Office 365).  My solution , that works , is I do a “Alt & Tab” to shift focus to another program that I am running.  Then I ALT Shift back to Word or Outlook and all seems well.  I have never found a cause and situation does not always occur so I can’t duplicate for tech support.  This may not be a universal solution but this gets me by.

Also have a client with the same problem.  Here is what he is experiencing since installing JAWS 2018.

When in a Word document, in an Outlook message, and at times while in an Internet Explorer window, JAWS says "blank" constantly; no matter what I do, it won't read any text. When I've tried employing just the JAWS Cursor, I get this overlapping mishmash of text from various windows that are opened.

The only commonality in all of this seems to be the following:  having Microsoft Word opened. Perhaps, there's some second or "ghost" Word window that's "hanging" or not closing, thereby obstructing the ability of JAWS to read the opened windows? Of course, what makes this frustrating to pin down is that neither of these issues occurs all the time.

Another issue that may or not be related.  When using Word, Outlook, and/or Internet explorer, I hear JAWS say "task switching" whenever I use Alt-Tab. However, many of the functions in the programs aren't accessible to me. This morning, for instance, Insert-F7 wouldn't do anything in Internet Explorer; I had to use the Up and Down Arrow keys to navigate a web page.

Thanks for any clues.  Sharyn

don't use the right click, ok? navigate to the comment, press the
application key or shift+f10, down arrow to delete comment and press enter.
poof, no more comment.

Nino, since you didn't exactly explain what you wanted to do, I hope this
helps:

to delete a single comment, right-click the comment, and then choose and
enter on Delete Comment. you can also delete all comments or Delete comments
from a specific reviewer which are a little more involved.
