It’s a matter of changing the port numbers, and sometimes the server names themselves. I am using Outlook 2010 with IMAP as I write this.

The only thing you may notice is occasional error messages about Outlook being unable to sync with the servers.

Hi all: I’m contemplating moving my outlook 1010 email account from a pop server to imap. Is there an easy way to do that?

Hello try to download Revo uninstaller free there is a portable version available and if you download that there is an option to force uninstall a program it does not want to uninstall correctly.
I hope this helps and you have a wonderful day.

All you really need are two fields in the dialog box to set up the signature. The first field you must fill in is the name you wish to give the signature. I usually just call it signature1. The other field is where you put the text of what your signature will say. This is the dialog which often doesn’t want to read.

The way I get around this is to compose my signature in Notepad first, then just paste it into the edit field where the text of the signature goes.

Try pressing Alt-F-T-M, tab to the signature colum, then OK,
once you have accomplished your purpose. Then good luck.
They made it way to complicated. When I use a signature, I
just put it on the Clipboard, but recently have stopped
using one for the most part.

Hi all for the past few days i have been having problums with jaws and windows live mail and deleating messages in the inbox. this is happening with jaws 2018 and also keeps on happening on older versions of jaws as well. what is happening is that when i go and deleate a message from the inbox jaws will read the message below that message as the same message that i just deleated when when i arrow up it is a diffrint message that i might want to keep. so lets say that i get a message from friend 1 and then another message from friend 2 well jaws will deleate the message from friend 1 but then it continues reading the message below that it will still be the same subject and message from friend 1 but would be from in fact friend 2 and the only way i would know this is to use my up arrow to check. it is anoying and i have found this happening on jaws 2018, as well as jaws 18 and 17. i am running windows 10 64 bit. i hope some one can help solve this problum. from Mich.

I’m using an older version of Excel, but when this happens to me I do the following

I try to edit cell f26 and press f2 and no sound:

I remember the cell number and press the end key on the keypad and then the home key. This sends you to the last cell of your spread sheet.

Then I press the F5 key (goto) and press f26.

Then F2 and then I can edit the cell.

Hello,
What version of jaws, and windows are you using? I'm using the latest version of both, and not having any issues. I will test it just to make sure though.

moderated Re: external speaker for laptop?

Bill White <billwhite92701@...>

Hi, Van. When putting in search terms, I would include the words External Computer Speaker/s. This is because most speakers don’t contain any amplification within them. Often, computer speakers do. This might be especially important if using a laptop with a modest wattage on the output for the speakers. You might need amplification if the wattage is too low on the sound, and especially if you are connecting the external speakers through the headphone jack on the laptop. This is because the output of the headphone jack is often attenuated or somewhat turned down so as not to cause damage to headphones or ears. Because the output is turned down on the headphone jack, amplification might come in especially handy.

Hi,

Even though I have a laptop, I sometimes plug in my old desktop speakers to have a little better sound quality or volume when working.  These old speakers are on the fritz.  What is the current trend for external speakers?  I don’t’ want to spend much, nor am I  listening to music and movies that would require high sounds quality.   Frankly, I only need even just one speaker, not stereo sounds.   I’m afraid if I just enter “external speaker” in Amazon search, the results will be too  broad.   Any tips?

hi Shirley,

I just got a new laptop two months ago, practicly with the same caracteristics like yyours, except that my laptop is dell, jaws 2018 runs great, however when I use some heavy programs like office 2016 or abbyy fine reader I had found it gets slow, no to dead but if I would have more money when I bought it, I definitely would have bought a more powerful machine, overall I'm talking specificly of cpu.

but it is your decision and this are just my thoughts.

Hi Shirley,

The performance of Jaws doesn't only depend on the processor. I have an I3 Intel NUC mini PC at my business which I think has 8 Gb or 12 Gb of RAM and a 128 Gb SSD and it's got absolutely no issues with Jaws.
How much memory/RAM is installed in this PC? If it's only 4 Gb then spend an extra $40 or whatever and put in another 4 Gb and you should be fine.
Also, you may get some replies from people who firmly believe that nothing except an I7 system with 16 Gb of RAM and a fast SSD will do, all I can say there is that it depends on what you do and something a lot less fancy certaily works fine for most average users and would most likely be fine for most of those who think they need the fastest there is.

Since I don't even know what I'm talking about, I'm turning to you experts. Should I return the one that just arrived, which I haven't opened yet? Or will it be okay?

I have always hated the whole "Favorites" convention used by IE myself because it was exclusive to IE (or, really, I should say Windows since that's the level at which it was maintained). Windows Favorites do not synchronize across different browsers but will open in whatever browser you happen to have as your chosen default browser under Windows 10.

You can definitely export and import between browsers, but even that does not keep bookmarks/favorites in sync between multiple browsers as you add new ones over time in the various browsers. The sync feature that's now built in to browsers like Chrome and Firefox allow you to keep all your bookmarks synchronized for that browser alone across various devices where you use them, but not between those browsers across devices.

If you're looking for a solution that synchronizes across browsers and/or across devices then a third party bookmarks/favorites manager is necessary. See this article entitled, LogMeIn to shut down Xmarks on May 1, 2018 <https://www.ghacks.net/2018/03/31/logmein-to-shut-down-xmarks-on-may-1-2018/> , with regard to the Xmark cloud bookmark manager service shutting down in May but that gives possible alternatives one might want to consider at the end. See also the website https://bookmarkos.com <https://bookmarkos.com/> . There's no synchronization between browsers in the conventional sense there since all access is via the website itself, but you effectively have the same bookmarks available to you via the website within whatever browser you're using.
