Hi David,
Try the following:
Below are some steps I typed up for
navigating the newer versions of CCleaner with JAWS. Since CCleaner and
JAWS works fine with the, Windows tab, scan
then the navigation starts getting weird, the steps below start after scanning the Windows tab. Note: These may not be exact but, are very close and should get you by. 1. After you run a scan of the Windows tab, you can use your finger gymnastics in 2 ways to scan the Applications tab. A. After the Windows tab scan is finished tab until you come to the Windows tab again, now switch to the, Touch cursor, Shift + Numpad Plus, now right arrow and then left arrow to highlight the Apllication tab and press enter to select it. Turn off the Touch cursor by tapping the Numpad Plus key twice quickly. Press, Alt + R, to start the scan. B. After the Windows tab scan is finished switch to the Touch cursor, left arrow several times to the Applications tab and press enter to select. Now, turn the Touch cursor off and press, Alt + R, to scan. Note: The Touch cursor is mostly used to navigate after the Windows tab scan. 2. If you are scanning the Registry, after the Applications scan is completed press, Alt + G, to start the scan of the registry. 3. After the registry scan is completed, Shift + Tab to the list of found items, pay attention to how many items were found, you can arrow up & down this list to uncheck any items you don't want removed or press, Control + A, to select all, tab to the delete selected items, or whatever it's called, and press enter to start the cleaning. You will get a dialogue asking if you wannt to save a copy of the registry before the cleaning so press, Alt + Y, to save, press the spacebar on the confirmation dialogue now the registry cleaning process starts and it only takes a second or so. After the cleaning is finished now, if you route the Jaws cursor to the PC cursor you can arrow up 1 time to hear how many items wer found and how many were cleaned. For example, if 20 items were found but, you unchecked 5 of them you should hear, 15 / 20, meaning 15 of the 20 items were cleaned. If you slected them all you should hear, 20 / 20, meaning 20 of 20 items were cleaned. Note: The copy of the saved registry file should be in your Documents folder. This is a copy of the registry before it's cleaned so, if there's a problem after the cleaning you can restore your registry with this saved file. Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool. Go dodgers! Problems with edit boxes in latest Chrome
Hi,
I am running the latest Chrome browser with the latest version of Jaws on the latest version of Windows 10. I find that when I go in to an edit box, I cannot arrow around to review what I've written. This action often takes me out of the field and to the next or previous parts of the web page, depending on which arrows I press. It just started doing this recently. this does not happen with Firefox or IE11 or even Edge. Is there a work around for this? Changing forms options in Jaws seems to have no effect. Thanks, ~Ann |

The same thing happened to me recently. Before you can set up the Focus in Jaws, you have to go into Bluetooth settings in Windows and add the display there. You'll put in code 0000 and once it's detected in Windows, then you can set it up in Jaws. If it's there now, I'd remove the Focus from Jaws and then pair in Windows first. Re: Find & Replace Query
The bracket is often referred to as the square bracket, and your memory is correct, it looks like the trimmed off end of a square or rectangle.
The brace is often referred to as the curly brace (sometimes the curly bracket). The closest I can come to an even semi-accurate description is that it has a rounded shape at the upper and lower end, much like a parenthesis, but there is a small point pulled out at the halfway point of its height. There is a bit of recurve coming out of that point, so the whole thing is not fully "on the round" like a parenthesis is. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1903, Build 18362 Many of the insights of the saint stem from his experience as a sinner. ~ Eric Hoffer |

Re: Logitech G613 Lightspeed wireless mechanical gaming keyboard
Sieghard Weitzel <sieghard@...>
Well, as a final note I will say that now that I received my Das Keyboard 4 Professional which is a wired mechanical keyboard without the 6 gaming keys on the side I am truly impressed. I think for a non-gamer who simply wants an awesome keyboard for typing/office use it is about as good as it gets. It has a Windows key on each side of the spacebar and a working application key and it has a beautiful volume knob and media keys. Apart from that it’s just a fantastic keyboard with a regular old-style layout, good spacing between the blocks of function keys and all that. It is made from aluminum and while it is wired, it has only 1 USB plug, but there are 2 USB ports on the back of the keyboard which for me is great because I have sighted staff so I can continue to use a wireless mouse and use 1 port to plug in the mini USB receiver so I am not actually using up more ports on the computer. For my main register computer in my store I could even use the second port to plug in the USB barcode scanner. I chose the version with the Cherry Blue switches which make a very satisfying click and the typing experience is just superb. You can also get it with Cherry Brown switches which are quieter and a bit softer, apparently more like the Romer-G switches Logitech has developed for the G613. When I first got that keyboard and got a bit used to it I thought I really liked it, but I must say the Cherry Blue switches on the 4 Professional are really something and I think this will be my keyboard of choice even though it is quite expensive and it’s wired. The main thing I like about the G613 is the fact that it is wireless and allows me to use it on the PC with the Lightspeed USB dongle and also to connect my iPhone via Bluetooth so that a simply button push switches between the two, but that is more convenience and I may give it up for the typing experience of the Das Keyboard. The G-keys on the G613 are nice in a way and programming them with a few macros or commands is OK, but I don’t think I would miss them especially not if I can again get used to having a Windows key on both sides which makes keyboard shortcuts like Windows Key + 1 through 5 or 6 much more convenient since I don’t have to reach all the way across with the right hand to press either the Windows key or one of the number keys on the left.

the g-skill, looks a lot like this g613, with the same six keys down the left side, but 2 advantages; (1) you can program the macros yourself, and (2) there are three configurations you can save, e.g. if you've a set of macros in configuration one, and another in two, you save configuration three for the out-of-the-box configuration so you can have a dependable one you are sure of. I have both keyboards the g-skill 2980 and Logitech G613, and both of the setup utilities are not speech friendly except the reset function of the g-skill. I bought this g-skill from Amazon for about $80. The way you program the macros yourself without sight is to press macro record, the key you wish to use, and then the sequence you want, and then turn macro record off. The only advantage of the software recording the macro is you can make it lightning fast, instead from direct keyboard recording is that the time and rhythms are also recorded, though it begins typing at the instant you touch, not waiting for a moment which you might have used getting your hands ready to record the macro. This G-skill has very nice switches in it, with more throw as such than the g613, but, again, as in any keyboard, when you switch to it, you immediately get use to it's throw. Hi Brian,
When physically looking at a,
Bracket, or a, Brace, what are the differences between them? It's been
over 40 years since I've actually seen a typewritten Bracket or Brace and I just
don't recall. Example, I picture a Bracket as a rectangle standing
vertically and cut in half, but I can't picture the Brace. Thanks

Find & Replace Query

Hi All,

and Word 2010. When in either Word or Notepad, I have 10 lines of text
that all say the same except for the numbers at the beginning are
different. Examples below:
88% of FunTrivia players have answered this question correctly in the past.
75% of FunTrivia players have answered this question correctly in the past.
91% of FunTrivia players have answered this question correctly in the past.
Is there a wildcard symbol that can be used that I can insert in place
of the numbers, so when placing the full line of text into the, Find field, then
putting nothing into the, Replace field, and choosing, Replace All, all the
lines would be removed including the numbers? All help will be greatly
appreciated. Thanks much.
