Re: Is there a way to create hot spots for i lock manager"

Steve Matzura

Native Instruments stuff goes through Native Access, not ILok. Granted, there are libraries and instruments that use the Native Instruments Kontakt player or full version that do require use of the ILM, but anything purchased from http://www.nativeinstruments.com is delivered via Native Access.

So, what can't you do with the ILM and JAWS? I have been using ILM and JAWS together for a couple years and get everything I need through the menus.

If the graphics have tool-tips, you can use the JAWS Graphics Labeler to label them with the contents of those tool-tips. I think you'd do better, though, by just using the ILM menus. I'm 99 and 44/100 percent sure there's nothing that can't be done through those menus.

Using JAWS with BSI's Simian software

Craig Cooper

Greetings,
I am attempting to determine if JAWS is compatible with a program
called Simian, which is manufactured by Broadcast Systems
International (BSI). A person from BSI was familiar with JAWS and
thought that some JAWS users have worked with Simian. However,
according to a Freedom Scientific tech support person, JAWS scripts
have not been written to work specifically with Simian.
Does anybody have any more information, in this regard. I am trying
to convince a potential employer that JAWS can work with their Simian
software.
Thank you for any assistance.
Sincerely,
Craig Cooper

Re: screen coordinates

Also remember, if you are going to use this technique, to be certain of two things:

1.  That the screen is maximized.

2.  That any device on which you're going to rely on those coordinates has the same screen resolution.

Hi Jed,

Usually one of the main reasons for a browser running slowly is its add
ons or extensions . I don't use firefox so I can't tell you how to find
it, but somewhere in settings you'll have a way of viewing all add-ons
or extensions and normally it will tell you how long each add on is
taking to load when you view web pages , if you see anything there that
is taking a long time that you don't need it might be worth removing
it. As a slightly more drastic approach somewhere in settings there
will be a way to reset firefox to default , this will almost surely fix
the speed issues, but you will lose all your favorites and bookmarks
plus history things like web saved passwords, user names cookies and
add on, extensions etc., so only do this at a last resort and if you
don't mind losing all this stuff

Hey guys,

OK, i think i'm running firefox 56. I am having a horrific experience
loading web pages. Honest to god it feels like i'm on dialup. I just
loaded firefox and i went to gmail, I counted 24 seconds before the
page even opened.
According to speedtest on my phone i'm getting 83 megs download, but
that could also be just from me to the router. Any ideas what it
might be?

Hi,

I need the X,Y coordinates of a particular point on the screen so a macro

Is it possible to have Jaws determine and read out the X,Y coordinates of
the desired point and if so, how?

Thanks

Re: Anyone using the ADT website with JAWS?

Hi,

I’m using JAWS 2018 and Windows 10. In order to update my contacts list and other things associated with my account, I need the password and such—but can’t seem to get them in. I think I’m going to simply call in. I just prefer doing it myself when I can.

Thanks for getting back to me about this.

BTW, I’m not talking about their app, I forget what it’s called. That is supposed to allow you to have more control over your system while online. My daughter says it will let me bypass certain zones, arm and disarm, etc from anywhere. I haven’t even tried that app yet. Probably inaccessible.

Hi,

I’m trying to create a profile on ADT’s “myadt” section of their website. I have followed all the directions but still find myself in a loop without making any real headway. Do any of you know if it is accessible with JAWS and I’m just doing something wrong? Or if it is simply unaccessible?

Thanks for any help.

Re: Trouble with "task switching"

Hi,

Pressing alt and tab cycles you through open programs on your pc releasing alt tabl then opens that program. Normally. There is an alternative method for task switching which is ctrl, alt and tab, this sounds more like what you are experiencing since releasing the keys will not open the program but leave you in the task switching window and the tab or cursor keys just move between the list of running programs. To exit this mode pressing enter on a program will open that program or pressing escape exits the task switching mode. Not sure if you've already tried this but if you haven't hopefully it solves your problem.
