Re: Dropbox question
Robin,
If you and your husband are sharing a physical computer with separate login accounts, your Dropbox account folders will be located in different places. Yours will be under your user name and his under his user name. Ultimately, any shared Dropbox folders shared by you or shared with you will be located under your Dropbox main folder with whatever name that shared folder has. Any files you load into that shared folder whether saved there with your computer or your mobile device will be available to anyone who has access to that shared folder. It is very powerful and what I found to be the easiest way into the iPhone's closed file system since most of the apps I use that require file access work with Dropbox.

Alan, Interesting. Is that also the case if say, my husband is using my computer and wants his own drop box account? I have a lot to learn. Maybe I need to go order Judy Dixon’s book on Dropbox. From National Braille Press.

Robin,
You won't really be accessing two different Dropbox accounts. What should happen is that whoever is in charge of administering the folder being shared should invite you to share it too. It should then appear on your computer as a subfolder of your main Dropbox folder as well as a folder under your Dropbox app.
Good luck.

I have taken Publisher files and resaved them to a txt file and that is just about all you can do with Publisher and JAWS.

If you are trying to create/make a business card, Microsoft Word has a template and or you can use the Envelope/Label to make a business card and send it to a printer. You will also have to check to see what stationary you need for the template to print properly with your printer. This can be tricky! Original message:

Hello Dan and everyone,
We're dealing with the double wammy of just gotten our desktop back from the shop and recovering from kidney failure.
Since the upgrade to Windows 10 we now have 4 browsers on this rig. Like you we're relieved that Internet Explorer is still on this machine and is coming through when the others don't. Some of this may be due to missing pluggins for certain content. We'll know better once we've had a chance to try out our favorite Websites in all of the available browsers. All the best.

It’s slower but like an old friend Internet explore so often comes through when other browsers don’t. I keep it around and still use it when chrome and others just don’t do the job. On Jan 19, 2020, at 5:36 PM, Pastor Gil Pries <gilp@...> wrote:

Dropbox question
Van Lant, Robin
Hi, This question is for those who use multiple DropBox accounts. I currently successfully use my personal Dropbox account on my Windows 10 computer with JAWS 2019 to move files between my laptop and iPhone. I typically do this using Windows File Explorer, just as if drop box is any folder or drive on my laptop. I’m now going to need to access another drop box account that someone has set up to share files for some committee work. What should I expect that is different? Can I access the files the same way I do now or will I have to use the Dropbox website? Any other tips are appreciated, as I’m a bit nervous about being competent in the eyes of the other sighted committee members and of not messing up their files.
Thanks.

Re: reclassing list views in jaws?
Cohn, Jonathan
Hello,
That will all depend on the application. The JAWS reclassification tool will change a "window' object understanding from JAWS. Most Windows development environments these days do not represent every interface as a "sub-window" of the Top most window, but would instead use a object to represent that contro. In these cases, it has been my experience that window class tool does not have any effect. One can of course script JAWS to do just about anything, it is just a matter of determining if it is worthwhile to do this. If your application shows the list items as children of a single object or window and if that object is visible to either MSAA or UIA interfaces, then you can fairly easily do coding that can be expected to work even after the application has the next upgrade. If however you are looking at things by the location on the screen, then the slightest change to the program will probably break all your scripts. For example Anti-Virus systems are notoriously hard to script for because they don't want malicious software reconfiguring them and allowing their code to remain active. In any case, give it a try. Changing classes is fairly easy and can also be easily backed out.

Even though the installation manager installed the driver for the wireless dongle and allowed me to select my network and enter the network access key, when I eventually got to the desktop, in addition to not being able to install JAWS 2020, I could not download any windows updates, and that was after running the network troubleshooting program. Thank you for the link. I downloaded the JAWS 2020, file size 854 MB. Once I install JAWS 2020, I will be able to access the installation software on the CD, which came with the wireless dongle. I have not found a way as yet, using either Narrator or NVDA, in order to be able to access the icon so I can install the software for the Asus wireless dongle. Using JAWS, I have to use the JAWS cursor, to go to the top of the screen, make sure the JAWS cursor is on the first letter of the installation icon, then press the JAWS left mouse key, to activate the wireless dongle software. Once the software is loaded, the program is completely accessible. Thank you again for the link. Dave Durber

Not that I have anything against offline installers, as I download these and use them not infrequently, but one has to realize that servers for the installers that do "on demand" downloading do go offline occasionally. Sometimes it's for scheduled maintenance and sometimes it's not. But, generally, if you try again later things will work just fine after those servers are online again.
