Hi, it sounds like windows may not be dumping some programs from memory after you use them. At mid day or when the problem starts try a restart of the Microsoft program, or even rebooting the whole computer. Have a great day

O,

I don't understand your typing, either. Try using better punctuation, and then computer reboot.

And perhaps you are a typical, insular, American who just can't make himself  aware that there are people who can't properly speak your language through no fault of their own, who are not aware of the grammatical rules of your language and who aren't equipped to spell check a language that they aren't native speakers of.

Re: Question On Outlook Message Deletion

Sieghard Weitzel <sieghard@...>

Hi Tom,

I think what is happening here is that when you delete the message which you sent to yourself you are basically deleting the conversation and the conversation includes the message in your Sent Items folder.

Next time try to press the right arrow first to expand the conversation and then only delete the message you received and see if the sent message remains in the Sent Items folder.

Subject: Question On Outlook Message Deletion

Hello, everyone.

Occasionally, I will copy myself on an Outlook e-mail message, because the message is very important, and I want to be sure it has been sent.

Recently, I have noticed that if I delete the received message copy from my inbox, it is also deleted from my sent file.

Is there a way I can configure Outlook so that the message remains in my sent file, even though it has been deleted from my inbox?

I’m using the Office 365 version of Outlook 2016 with Windows 10 and the latest build of Jaws 2019.

Thank you!

Dr.  Tom Behler from Michigan

Hi, Rick did this make any difference?

Hi Pam it’s just the one that pays the subscription so everything is sent under her name. As we use the family plan with Pam gets her subscription and then we have five other ones we can share. And we don’t use all of them so that’s why I can offer you one temporarily.

Hi,

I'm not sure but who is Pamela Barnett? I received an invitation, from her, where she is sharing her Microsoft 365 program with me. As so damned nice of you to offer this Pam, this truly makes me nervous where I have to click on this tab or that and click to accept your invitation. Am I offering someone to get into my network? As much as I love your offer Pam, I'm nervous as hell to do anything.

Hello list-members:

Although I have been a JAWS user since 1989, (both in the workplace and at home), I’ve not ventured very far from the standard uses of JAWS beyond  familiar applications.

At present, I am involved in some ESL tutoring here in the Twin Cities. Not surprisingly, a lot of visual props are used in various lessons to further assist in learning new vocabulary. What I would like  to do is create a worksheet that includes vocabulary words, or sentences where the word is used and in some instances include a picture next to or below the word or sentence: not sure about formatting here.)

There are a number of websites that offer a diversity of photos/images that can be used in the area of literacy instruction. I am reaching out to persons on this list that can provide direction in combining text an pictures in creating a worksheet. I would guess it’s a matter of copying the photo into the Word file that contains the electronic worksheet. Also, as is sometimes the case, is this the kind of process where some sighted help is recommended to make sure that everything is aligned properly?

Any and all help is appreciated.

Best to all of you, Justin

Funny you mentioned that.  Because for the sighted my JAWS reads too fast for them to understand it.  The VIP or blind, it is too slow.  The thing is, I live with 2 sighted people and to listen to JAWS at a high speed then listening to them is like driving a racing car around a track then it slams into 30 Mph(50 Kms) to much for my meager brain to take.

For any power user of a computer who needs and wants to work fast and requires the most responsiveness there is little which beat Eloquence. Maybe some hardware synthesizers are equal to Eloquence in speed and responsiveness, but Eloquence has achieved this while also adding better speech quality. Is it human sounding? Absolutely not, but the problem is that the more human sounding a synthesizer is the less pleasant is it to listen to it at high speed. Alexa, the Google Home voice as well as SIRI along with several of the high-end voices from Vocalizer, Neospeech and other companies sound great, but they only do so at normal human speaking speed.

As an Apple user,in my opinion, VoiceOver already has voices far superior to JAWS syns and Eloquence.

I know this is all subjective so just chiming in.

I wonder if people ever suggested it to Apple. I’ll write an email to accessibility@... and do so, maybe  you should too, if enough people asked you never know. I’m sure it would be easy enough for Apple to do this.

He might be better at talking fast compared to some others, I personally don’t like Alex at all and while Samantha High Quality is pretty acceptable to me on the phone, I’d know for sure Steve Jobs made it to heaven if Apple were to offer Eloquence on the iPhone.

One thing, the best IOS voice is Alex who can really talk fast even if a human sounding synthesizer. Too bad there isn't a windows version of IOS Alex.

Actually, I strongly believe it is what you get used to.  I didn't like vocalizer at first, but I run it all the time now ad I'm used to it.  The thing that really helps is that I run it on my phone as well, so it is the same everywhere.  I grew up on the Votrax, artic and Braille'n speak.  I never cared for eloquence, especially the version that comes with jaws since it sounds like the low quality telephone-bandwidth version.

I can definitely see how people who are used to using Eloquence or something like DoubleTalk at fairly high rates will not like Tom, Samantha or other human sounding voices. I am the same way, I have been using Eloquence for over 20 years and the human sounding voices just don't sound good when you run them very fast. Then it's like one of these ads where some guy at the end reads a bunch of restrictions very fast and in a monotone sort of voice and it just sounds weird. I think Eloquence to me is simply the gold standard when it comes to synthetic voices, you can run it fast and I find it much clearer and easier to listen to then something like DoubleTalk or eSpeak. I should mention that I started using computers during a time when it was all hardware synthesizers, I never had DecTalk or DoubleTalk but started out in 1989 with Jaws and the "Accent" synthesizer.

Below is a demo I found of Accent, I hadn't heard that thing in decades, but it instantly sounded familiar:

Yes.  You can get used to a different synthesizer, if it fixes your problem . The vocalizer Tom voice is quite responsive on my 5-year-old core i5 system.
