This is what one gets when, for inexplicable reasons, a "new version" of Windows is declared to be "needed" by who knows who in the Microsoft organization and what had been the next planned Feature Update to Windows 10 is used and tarted up (and, as we've both noted, stupidly pared down) to create it.

But it is what it is, and at least some of this stupidity will most likely be reversed with the first feature update to Windows 11, if not before.

Very.  There is no unitary way to choose the default web browser at this time.  It's a file-type by file-type affair.

The outcry about this has been significant, and I suspect that a patch will eventually be forthcoming that makes choosing a default web browser under Windows 11 directly analogous to the way it is under Windows 10.  I have no idea who made the decision to remove this for the debut of Windows 11.  It was an insanely stupid change to the default apps user interface.

Press Windows with s. This should bring up the Search box in the Start Menu.

Now, type the word "default". This should bring up the Default Apps choice.

You can certainly change your default browser to any that you want (and
Microsoft will be quite delighted that you chose Edge), but what's your
secondary browser now? I would particularly keep firefox around, as a
non-chromium browser. Unless you're really, really hurting for space for
some reason, you can keep programmes around as backups even if you don't
want to use them on a daily basis. You never know when another browser will
become useful, if for example a site happens to work better in Firefox than
in Edge.

Sending a message to any group's help address will get you a list of the most commonly used group addresses.

You just take the address you use every time you post and stick, sans quotation marks, "+help," directly in front of the at sign.  For this group, that means the help address is:  main+help@jfw.groups.io

Hi all,

I jump back between JFW 2019 and 2022 due to whatever problems one resolves over the other.

Within either version, when I hit the windows key +m key, to go to the desktop, I then hit the alt key down to file manager, for example. The voice then changes to elequence from my default use of an external voice syn. Any ideas to what setting I need to correct so the same voice or scheme is used no matter where I am within the operating system, Windows 10, FYI. I look forward to all help.

That way, no chance of accidentally removing oneself from the list.

Hi, Mike. Yes, it sounds simple to take the unsubscribe address, and remove
the "un", but in some email programs, the entire link is read, without the
ability to arrow through the link and listen to individual characters and
edit them. This is often why people ask for the unsubscribe address.

Robin,

Thank you so much for your reply.

Recently, the application got introduced with screen recording feature.

The user interface is bit complicate to understand for the screen reader users.

So many unlabled buttons, checkboxes.

Anyway, let me explore the documentation before writing to them.

Thanks once again for your reply.

My company used to use this for capturing screen shots.  I am unclear if it has new functionality for recording screen activity.  I honestly don’t know how you would use it for screen images, since it usually involved drawing a box around what you want to capture, but maybe someone else has an idea.

G to jump to a specific date.
A to switch to the schedule or agenda view.
Delete key to erase an event.
E to edit an event.

When editing or creating an event, tab between the different fields, of which there are many. After editing the event, Control s will save it.

Hope this helps somewhat.

Although I am a long-time user of the Outlook Calendar (having mastered its foibles over a period of decades), I am now a convert to Google Calendar, both on my iPhone and the computer. On the computer, using the Google Calendar website is incredibly simple once you figure it out. What's even better is that on my iPhone, Google Calendar is my default calendar. Thus, whatever I put into or remove from Google Calendar on the computer is automatically synchronized with my iPhone.

This may not be the answer you were looking for. But this is my solution to the conundrum of keeping calendars in sync.
