I also have OpenBook 9.0, but when I check for updates, it says I’m already using the latest update. Maybe, the auto-updater doesn’t catch the latest version?

Looking for text with Bold or Italics
Nermin
hi all,
a friend of mine is having a hard time trying to look through text with bold, italics and a specific colour. She's using Office 2013 and JAWS 2020. I thought that using CONTROL+f, going to advanced, and selecting "format, character" then the desired attributes would work, but for some reason it only works if she invokes the dialogue over and over. At that point, JAWS won't report the next occurrence with the selected formatting. Is there a way to jump from attributed text to attributed text without having to constantly go to the dialogue and select next each time? Also, it would be helpful if JAWS reported the next occurrence. I thought that pressing F3 might do the trick, but for some reason it does not work. If we use the attributes scheme, that does not help much, since she does not need to read the whole text. It's for a proofreading job in Braille, where the text is present as a hardcopy and needs to be compared against the digital version. The original book has some highlighting that needs to match once the Braille version has been proofread. Any help would be appreciated. Regards, Nermin |

Re: Including keystrokes in Speech History?
Bill White <billwhite92701@...>
Hi, Mark. There is no way currently to have key strokes included in Speech History. If there were, it could present a privacy concern. I think the only way you are going to have a log of keystrokes pressed is to install a key logger, which will present privacy concerns of its own.

Does anyone know a way to have speech history include keystrokes that were pressed and not just what JAWS said? This would be a helpful way of recording a walk through of content. |

Has anyone tried the Touch cursor?
Shift + PC cursor, tapping the PC cursor twice
returns it back to a regular cursor.
I have found that unusable screens can usually be
managed with the touch cursor.
The touch cursor is not for computers with a touch

How many posts does one get on the list mentioned below? Not a exact #, just a ball park figure. I was on a NVDA list, and the posts 98% of the time were so petulant, I left it. Petulant, meaning arguing over minor things and expecting software to be perfect. How can it be when imperfect people design it. A circle is just a circle and no amount of wining will change that.

Re: jaws 2021 and Zoom
David Diamond
Rebecca, I’ve not encountered the problem you mentioned. I had 2020 and now have 2021 of JAWS, with no notification changes. I have at least 2 zoom meetings per week and when someone joins or leaves, I’m told by JAWS. At times I actually turn off JAWS as I don’t need to know all the time who joins and leaves. Often their connection is weak so within a minute of leaving, they join again.

I tried it and using Jaws 2021 I also can replicate your issue. However as a workaround I found that unloading Jaws whilst on that screen and loading Narrator with control windows enter gave a much more pleasant experience. David G.
