That’s also what my computer guy said, to never ever defragment an SSD but to leave the computer on at all times.

The default setting is to check the drive once a month, at least that's what it was on my Windows 10 Pro system using a solid state drive, but it can be changed to weekly or turned off.

If folks are really concerned about writing to their SSD too much, you might consider turning off hibernation, which writes to the SSD/HD whenever your computer hibernates.

Well as I had mentioned before, if one often deletes large files, like ISOs and other disk images, then there can be something to be gained, even with an SSD.

Sure, but why do it if there’s 0 benefit, and even if it’s slightly detrimental. It’s just a waste of time and resources, and if the oS itself doesn’t provide for it…that’s a pretty good

If you hear the sound, it must be some of the individual volume controls that have been lowered. If I could do a JAWS tandem with you, I believe I could find out what's wrong.

well, among the issue about JAWS not speaking automatically, he did say "When I go and start narrator it don't start." which led me to think that the sound card had been accidentally or intentionally

things it does at startup is to unmute the sound card to which JAWS is set.

Amir, do you hear any sound at all, such as when Windows starts up? if not, the sound card may simply be muted.
to unmute:
press Windows+r, type sndvol and press enter.

Hi, Amir. If you type Windows key plus R for the Run Dialog, and type JAWS2021 into that field, and it comes up, it's not JAWS and the sound card. It's more likely that either the options in JAWS
