I did not have this specific problem while checking for updates, however using JAWS 2018 at least I was unable to actually activate the update button.

Would be really good though if Freedomscientific could give it some more options like turn off after 30 seconds so it does actually save some battery time.

Type blue and arrow down once and you should hear:
