Re: Curiosity: What makes people choose Jaws over NVDA?
I can definitely attest that, while there are improvements to NVDA and Office, Jaws still works far nicer.
I'm curious what you mean when you say legacy support?

Hello.
Have not had any trouble with either one of those. Sounds like a machine-specific problem that might be solvable with a reinstall of jaws or something.

One thing I've noticed with Jaws 2022 lately is that at least on my
machine, it seems to become completely unresponsive while using the
task manager and device manager, whereas NVDA works perfectly

Re: Word Processors that Work with JAWS
Hi. Yes, I've thought about it, but as someone who doesn't need to write a lot of documents, I'm not sure if it's worth the price, especially with my limited income. Thanks.

Wow, thanks for all the responses! I honestly had no idea if this kind
of topic would get any traction, or if it would completely just get
derailed into drama. Thankfully this is not the case at all.

Re: New Subscriber Contemplating Switching from NVDA to JAWS with A Few Questions
From reading the post, Lanie was indeed aware that Jaws uses
"scripts". The question was more in regards to the best places to
obtain said scripts. NVDA has a couple of repositories for it's

Siebel and JAWS
Hello,
Is anyone here working with Siebel and JAWS. I just got a job and they use Siebel. I’m having varied results. I would like being able to navigate better in it, does anyone have tips.

Re: Curiosity: What makes people choose Jaws over NVDA?
I've always thought NVDA was more like Window Eyes.
Now, if there was a Jaws add-on for NVDA, that set the keyboard functions to
be like Jaws, I think a lot more people would use it.

Re: Curiosity: What makes people choose Jaws over NVDA?
Having been a long time Window Eyes user I found the move to NVDA much easier than a move to Jaws. I have NVDA and the latest version of Jaws on my computer and use NVDA 90 percent of the time.

Re: thumb drive
No. It won't. Just be sure to have AutoPlay open your drive in Windows File Explorer, not in something else. That way, you can see all your files when the drive comes up.
