Because sometimes there is corruption in the old settings, and a newer version of JAWS gets screwed up because of it.

It all depends on how complicated your settings are, do you have a braille display, do you have custom scripts or do you yourself modify or write scripts and so on.

You only have it if you have a Trusted Platform Module, it says "Security Devices", if you don't have that your computer is older and does not have a TPM.

I don't know what the "Win Y 11 Tool" is, I can't find such a thing, the only way to check for Windows 11 compatibility as far as I know is with the PC Health Check app and to my knowledge Microsoft

Got it! My focus is older and the keys are different. I did find the spacebar on my student's display.
Apparently the Braille input is dictated by the output, so there is only one input choice,

Hi, Mike. Several times, due to changes in the newer version of JAWS, migrating the settings to the new version caused anomalies that made it necessary to completely reinstall the newer version.

I'm typing this in Grade II braille with a Focus 40. I normally use the QWERTY keyboard for text entry, but for this message, I'm using Grade II braille input.
