i agree. Every Laptop does have a Fn Key for several functions which include the touchpad option most of the Time but all HP Laptops which i've been working with recently did not have the Option

Their is a sounds folder in your Jaws user settings folder.
I just checked but there is nothing in mine. I guess that would be where custom sounds you assign would be saved?

Recent HP Laptops do not have a fn key to turn off the Touchpad. Usually there is a small point in the upper right or left corner directly on the touchpad which you have to double tap in order

It is just the general settings window giving the edit field to search for a setting first.
What I do not understand is why it is opening on its own when the computer boots up.

Yes, that is correct for the Dell. It is a toggle, and goes through 4 different scenarios: Touchpad and touchkeys enabled, Touchpad and touchkeys disabled, Touchpad disabled and touchkeys

Maria, I have the same problem. Ease of access center opens about 50 percent of the time. This is been going on for a few weeks.

There is a check box in Ease of Access Center which says
Always Scan this Section. My check box says unchecked. Perhaps if you open Ease of Access Center, and make sure the Always Scan This Section
