Tom, it is not designed to do that because if it is not a scanned image, it shouldn't require OCR.
If you want to try the scan, you will have to envoke it with the keystrokes.

Tom is correct. Sometimes, and I have no idea why, even though a sighted person does not see the words running together, they do even in Word.
Spell checkers can help, but you have to be in an

Regarding "recognize with Jaws", I have found that sometimes, if the file is a scanned image file, recognize with Jaws will come up automatically.
In other cases, like the one we are dealing

I have had this problem too on occasion.
I'm using the latest build of Jaws 2018 with Windows 7 here, and experience this issue with Adobe Acrobat DC.

If you have JAWS 2018, try highlighting the PDF, press either the Applications key or SHIFT plus F10, arrow down to recognize with JAWS, and press ENTER. Wait for a few minutes, and your document

My experience with PDF documents is that sometimes, while visually they may look fine, a screen reader will put words together.
Then again, sometimes they are just run together in the PDF.
