If your PC has a 6th gen or earleir CPU you can install win 7 on it.

Just wanted to add that I have less jaws freezes and overall issues with win 7 than I do with win 10. I use 7 at my work and 10 at home so I use them every day...

Hi!
Don't think that's the strokes for an hp laptop.
I tried that, then, went into control pannel to see if it had come back on as my friend turned it off, but they hadn't.

I am using the latest release of Jaws 2018 on this windows 7 Home edition 64bit PC to write this message.
It works just fine. some people say Jaws version 16 is faster but I haven't noticed any thing

It’s just a simple toggle keystroke. If I want my wife to do something which requires the TouchPad I just press FN+F7 which is the key combination on my Asus laptop and afterwards I press it again

you should be able to use a function keystroke to turn off and on the mousepad,
not sure of all hp laptops,
but I think the keystroke is, FNKey+f7.

Val,
If you turn it off, someone who uses a mouse on a laptop will not be able to move the mouse around your screen to help you if needed.
So it’s best to leave it enabled.

No difference, but I don't like it in the taskbar because then if I Alt+Tab to find a program I always come across Jaws and I just don't need it there.

yes... if you open in the taskbar, when you alt tab you will go in to the jaws window. in the system trey it's minamized there and when you alt tab you don't enter the jaws

windows 7 on new computers.
you can't even install windows 7 on the newest computers. even if you have an un used copy. the mother boards will not support it any more.
and windows 7 support ends in 2020, not 2022
