I guess being a newbee with Jaws I was quite surprised when I was told by Jaws support that it was a good idea to keep a earlier version of Jaws when installing the newest version as the new version

This used to happen a lot to me under Windows 7, Windows 10 rarely ever crashes any more and Jaws under Windows 10 while offering reduced accessibility for many

correction. the code is 8070643. running the installer without JAWS
running uses a "built in voice" which eventually speaks an error code.
however, JAWS nor NVDA does not read this code, not even

Excel 2016 and JAWS 2019 Always Crashing on Exit

I am using JAWS 2019 with Excel 2016. Every time I exit Excel (alt+F4) after saving my workbook (Controls), both Excel and JAWS crash. I do not know which crashes first, if that matters.
