My wife handles our business accounting with Quickbooks, but in addition to these options, I believe there’s also Cash Manager that’s supposed to be accessible.

try checking your sound card settings. most windows versions have an option to turn off all sound enhancements. this will improve speech clarity. but this will also remove a lot of base when playing

try unloading and reloading JAWS with an insert+f4 and spacebar, and
then starting JAWS. if that doesn't help, try rebooting the laptop.

This has nothing to do with Jaws but is a soundcard driver issue or maybe some setting for your soundcard got turned on. You should go to your soundcard properties and make sure all enhancements are
