Re: links on web pages
Don,
What browser are you running? I think I have an idea of what's happening but, I want to make sure we're on the same page. Also, what's the website?
Stay safe and take care. Mike.

Have you talked with Freedom Scientific about this?
I find nothing in the settings that would account for this behavior.

Re: Additional info for my previous inquiry
You are probably right, that extra verbiage is annoying, but Jaws does say what you want after the unnecessary chatter about alert messages and chats …if you keep listening.

I’m expecting to hear Jaws telling me what element I am focused on.
And I am confident this is a problem with Jaws, not normal behavior.

A further note on how this happens; if you press control+o to open a document and shift+tab to get to your files, the first button you land on is Name…. If you accidentally press space or enter on

links on web pages
I am running Jaws 2021 on a win 10 system. I have forms mode set to manual. When I arrow down a web page Jaws makes a sound when I land on a link and other controls. Is there a way to stop this?

Re: excel with jaws
Weird. I've never had anything untoward happen with using the control key for silence in excel. Navigation seems quite fast for me in excel, you may be suffering from an old computer.
