E Speek is horrible I would hate to have that as my synth speech. I like elaquince with jaws and the first speech I ever herd was on a old apple 2 e that I had as a kid remember the speech enjon in

And Windows XP was, and still is, the best of them all, in my opinion. Of course, using Windows XP nowadays could be construed as commiting Security suicide, but I guess there were less buggy people

I wouldn't necessarily say there were more options back then, it was Microsoft and a little bit Apple and Unix and for a while IBM tried to be a player with their OS/2 operating system.

Yes, Jaws did work with Windows 3.1/3.11, but I don't think it was called Jaws for Windows until 95 came out, but it's very long ago so I could be wrong.
