Actually, when Lee Anne did a "Title" command, she said that JAWS only said, "Title is". That shows that nothing was in focus.

Hello:
Did you hear that the title was Chrome or something else? If not Chrome, then the focus went somewhere outside of the Chrome universe.

Restoring calendar
I’ve inadvertently deleted my calendar entries from this week onward. I believe there is a way to restore a recent version of the file. It’s a Word file. I’m using Windows 10 and JAWS 2020.

Lee Anne, thank you for checking and reporting. Steve, I hope that helps. I'm also unclear what you mean by JAWS not detecting Chrome is in focus. Is that different than JAWS + q?

Is there a shortcut key to increase or decrease verbosity levels, like there is for increasing or decreasing speech rate?

It just happened, and I tried James' suggestion of pressing Alt + Tab to leave chrome and then Alt + Tab to go back to chrome. It worked. Thanks James. Does anyone know why it works?

Beta 22 hasn’t improved on that either.

Yep, it’s not Jetpack that slows it down I believe, it’s image optimisation, which I have done now.

Hi,
Jump into JAWS settings, and search for Voice Assistant. The first result for me was Enable Voice Assistant, uncheck it.
Make sure to do a control shift D to disabled it for all apps.
