If you don't want Jaws to start reading the page automatically you can turn that off.
To do so, press Jaws Key + 6 on the number row to load the Settings Centre, press Control + Shift + D to load

Two things, make sure the Window is maximized and secondly, if this is Outlook from Microsoft 365 then sometimes there is a message about some feature or whatever on the screen which can be difficult

If this is happening when a page first loads, try waiting a second and then pressing insert plus esc to refresh the page. If you start navigating before the page fully loads this will happen

Brian, Starbucks sends the user/customer an email that has the ‘join the promo’ link, which is being read by Outlook from Office365 (and BTW I am at the latest version of Jaws).
