Another way is to press F12 to save the document. You will get a message that says this is a protected document. Tab once to the button that asks if you want to unprotect the file. Hit the spacebar

My guide from when I was helping the trainers at the VA was to curse at Word.
Press alt followed by F followed by I followed by E
This always reminded me of the song in Camelot "Fie on Virtue".
