Once you're in the Favorites folder in File Explorer:
1. Create New Item, and that Item is a shortcut. ALT+H,W,S
2. In the Create Shortcut dialog, first window, that opens, paste the URL you copied

If you’ve done a Control C, then you can do a control V to paste the link into your favorites.

It's also just another way to save shortcuts in a folder, whether that folder is on the desktop or elsewhere. There's never been anything wrong with doing that if it's a method that works for you.

I agree – I have done this for years anyway.
The benefit if this approach is that it can be use from File Explorer across different incarnations of default browsers and Windows installs.

I have been having the same issue with fire fox crashing on me for the past few days. I had to switch to using chrome.

CTRL+I does nothing in new Chromium-based Edge, which will soon be the only Edge available. If Madison was referring to the truly latest Edge, that's the Chromium-based Edge.

Microsoft Edge does not crash but Firefox certainly does and I’m using the latest Firefox, Jaws 2020 and Windows 10 2004.

Yes, here as well. I think it came with a new version of firefox. It has something to do with Jaws, I suspect because on one page where I can make it happen, it doesn't crash with nvda.

As a developer and one who has supported users, I can understand why the screen shade item has been set to have to be turned on. If it was a permanent setting what would happen is it would end up

To my knowledge, ALT+D works in all modern web browsers to throw focus to the address bar and cause the address to be selected when focus lands there.
