Adobe is a good thing to keep.
Once you get one of the offices installed,, hopefully that file type will no
longer be associated with Adobe, but if it is, you may have to go into "open
with..." and

You really need to try and provide more information and maybe double check the file extension.
As others pointed out, a "dbf" file is a database file and it has nothing whatsoever to do with Jaws OCR,

The advantage of having an account is that if you use two devices or if you ever get another computer that all you have to do is log in and all your history, extensions, bookmarks and so on are synced
