Hi Marty,
You will need to use one of the utilities found on the desktop.
One should have a name relating to passwords, I forget the utilities, I'll look to see which one I think it is.

That program can likely convert it if it is a BRF file. NFBtrans can do
that.

If it has been scanned, then it is already in a format like DOCX or Open
Book format or something similar.
For that, you should use that software to convert to plain text.
You can then likely use this

not sure, but there's 32 and 64 bit versions for windows and looks like a lenux as well. you just have to enter your email address to download the software. you can give a whurl!

I currently am using DBT version 12.3SR1.
There may be newer

If money is not an issue, the best is Duxbury, at somewhere around $500 or $600.
I use Braille Blaster, which is free from American Printing House for the blind.

As I understand it placemarkers are browser specific so yes you have to add placemarkers for each browser you use.
I think placemarkers on a page are disturbed if there is dynamic content on a page

You need to anchor your text to your place marker, so that it goes to the same place each time. As for JAWS place markers working in other browsers other than IE, I've not tried to check
