1. Place the curser at the beginning of the row and at the top of the columb that you want spoken.

Hi tom, I agree with you regarding the Jaws cursor. At least in XP I was able to find some things with it, but as Jaws has progressed, or regressed, as the case may be, there is less and less

Well, maybe the issue is more complex than that? I only suggest this because I have been using and mostly loving Windows 10 for over two years now, and don’t really experience any of the problems

Hi, Robin. When JAWS is set to mute speech, speech is always muted. When JAWS is set to use Speech on demand, speech is usually muted, but JAWS will still speek when using commands such as,

I have encountered a similar situation, and have found it is the fault of another program that is interacting with my assistive technology. May want to see what other programs you have running that

Hi, Sieghard. This only works for the current session. If you restart JAWS or your computer, using SHIFT plus S does not make Speech Mute permanently the default behavior.

But unless you are on my computer, the Jaws hotkey will launch Jaws if you have one set up.
Otherwise, you can press Windows-key, plus r for the run dialog, and type jaws2019 and hit enter.
