Re: Unable to quit JAWS using Insert+F4
The insert key has also been called the JAWS key or NVDA key. Thus we are talking about the same key strokes here. Smile.

Re: links not being read in chrome, but being read fine in IE
One other thought. I would mention to the author of the web site they should follow ARIA: Accessible Rich Internet Applications and look at w3.org which Provides information on making sites

Re: Unable to quit JAWS using Insert+F4
why do you need to use, jaws/insert key+alt+f4,
you should be able to use insert+f4 to unload jaws.
this is true whether you use a wireless or not.
The impossible is the untried, Never under

Hi Kevin,
Huge thanks for the reply, that’s actually really helpful to have an understanding of why it’s not working, I can now go back to the author of the site and see if he is able to make

JAWS Freezes When Hyperlinking in Word
Hi,
I use JAWS 2018. I have Word 10 as well as 16. JAWS simply freezes
whenever I press control+k and start hyperlinking. In word 16, it
still manages to remain afloat and you can turn it back on,

I hate Jaws in the task bar too. And, I'm still curious as to where Jaws runs best.

Re: Unable to quit JAWS using Insert+F4
A wireless keyboard won't solve the issue if your laptop uses the function keys as media keys. If that is the case by default then the function keys on the wireless keyboard will mimic this behaviour.

Re: Unable to quit JAWS using Insert+F4
If this is the case I wonder why "Run from system tray" is not checked by default if you install Jaws on a new system.
It is always one of the first things I do either manually or in the setup wizard

Re: Unable to quit JAWS using Insert+F4
I do it the old fashion way. Use a wireless keyboard This way I have the 6 pack of keys and just use the insert or JAWS key with Alt. F4, to close JAWS

I finally took a look at the html on the site. One of the things a developer should do is test their web site on more than one browser. Plus they should have individuals with different disabilities

Greetings,
Now, you got me curious. FS use to always tell users of Jaws that they will have a better experience if they run Jaws from the system tray. What kind of problems do you run in to if it

Hi,
JAWS in the system tray does not always respond well. Best practice in my thought is to quit JAWS with JAWS key and F4.

Re: Major problem
Hi,
This is a jaws issue and has been for quite a while.
Hit alt, shift, windows, capslock all at once and that should clear things
up for quite a while.

Re: Unable to quit JAWS using Insert+F4
The problem is that the laptop has function keys set to be media keys by default. So, you need to press the FN key with the JAWS key and F4. I do this on my personal laptop.

Yes, I thought I was accidentally hitting caps lock somehow, but maybe that's not the case. I'm also seeing where JAWS says that I have control and/or alt held down. I just had this happen and
