Hi, I called FS support about this and they told me to do a JAWS repair. I did and it fixed the problem. Warning, the repair takes a ridiculously long time.

when i use picture smart or the Convenient OCR component on a file etc. are the images sent to the f s server for processing? this could be a security risk if you are processing

well, a repair fixed the problem and I can now use the feature.
it's kind of strange that it didn't work until now because I performed a
repair a few times before for other issues.

searching for commands doesn't work
maybe I'm not doing it right, but using the insert+spacebar followed by
a J does give me the edit field to type a keyword for a description but
whatever I type does not give me any results. for

windows plus g is the key shortcut to open the game bar.
so, I am assuming that, some time, when you press the letter, g,
windows key also get pressed.

For my own personal machines, yes. For my parents, though, probably not. And honestly, outside of RDP I don’t see a reason to upgrade to pro, and I say that now as someone still running Win 7
