just to chime in on this thread I've been a Kurzweil user for quite some time and at the time I upgraded from openbook to Kurzweil there was a competitive upgrade offer so there is a possibility

Hi,
I didn't have to run a special executable file. Just make sure that you have the latest build of JAWS 12 or JAWS 13 and you should be good to go. Just run iTunes and most things should be

Those are a little off the beaten path. You might try quizzing the
manufacturers on the subject of assistive technology, but, chances are
they'll work fine out of the box.

Try opening the file in notepad. Remember to turn the Braille translation
off. You should be able to read the file without trouble.

I tried OpenBook, and I don't use all of the features, so much so that I use the Abbyy Finereader Sprint that came with my scanner which does the job for me.

When I was teaching at the deaf-blind center, I had to go through many contortions to make kurzweil and jaws work together to drive the braille display and only talk with one voice. I don't do that

I like OpenBook, but I am not sure it will scan into the new version of
office. It has many features that I do not use. If you do not need to scan
into Word, Guide is a cheaper option. EASy OCR is
