I know of no way to add alt text to image files themselves in a way that a screen reader picks up on. That sort of alt text is a function of the thing into which the image is embedded, such as a Word

Ann,
That's something on your end, not mine, and I have no idea what that might be.

brian,
Is there a way to avoid the  characters liberally sprinkled through your messages? the messages would be sooo much easier to read without them.

Re: dumb question about say current word command
Would trying to reset to factory settings maybe fix this? I just don’t understand how every other command would work besides this one.

Re: volume control, can't switch it from my keyboard
You could try reinstalling the driver.
The other thing to do is more envolved is to try spraying some electrical cleaner on the keyboard controls.
Just a thought.

Adding alt tags to images?
Hi,
Is there a reliable way to add an alt tag to an image with the latest version of Jaws, and perhaps latest Word or some other program?
If someone knows other ways or programs for this that work

Re: Word skipping pages
You must first go into advanced settings, and make sure that you check the check box which allows documents to open in draft view. Then draft view may be made the default in Word.

Thank you for your responses. The draft view works but I’m wondering now whether there’s a way to make it the default view in Word? Again I haven’t been able to locate it in the Word Options
