The function key is Shift + F10 not F12 and you really don't have to create a folder first, if you use Extract All a folder is created which has the same name as the zip file.

I am also in Canada. What version of Jaws are you using now? At this point buying the SMA is still cheaper than the annual subscription as long as you are using a very recent Jaws

A couple of days ago JAWS started giving me a message “new notification”. I get no other message. I tried the JAWS scanning option on the window, but JAWS said there is no window.

I believe you can also hit F6 once signed in to get a dialog to save the password for the site.
