try the portible version. then you can find out for yourself without installing it or messing up firefox if you have it installed.
with the full version, if you uninstall it it will delete files the

When I went to the Waterfox download site this morning, it did say, that Waterfox is for 64 and 32 BIT systems.

I can't think of any setting that could explain your problem. Sounds to me like the keyboard is failing. Plug in an external keyboard instead.
