Re: Using an external numeric keypad with Jaws and encountering some problems
There's a reason I have VFO Technical Support e-mail in my contacts! I can't count the number of times I've written to them to try to determine "where the fault lies" in instances like this.

Yes. Numlock on or off doesn’t’ change the behavior of the * or / keys. Like I said, when numlock is off, the external numeric keypad works perfectly fine for navigation commands and whatever

But that's only supposed to be the case if Num Lock is off. I've used the internal number pad in "full number pad mode" on machines running JAWS, using slash for divide and star for multiply when in

The reason the Star and Slash say left and right mouse is that, these are the keys for the left and right mouse in JAWS.

I know I can do this, but it then kind of defeats the purpose and convenience intended by having the external keypad with the extra going back and forth and additional step.
I don’t mind trying

Hey Guys,
Didn’t we have a thread some time back where we discussed making the number pad independent or something like that.

Re: Using an external numeric keypad with Jaws and encountering some problems
Hi, Cristóbal. When you want to enter the Star or Slash, try the JAWS Pass through key first, JAWS key plus three on the numbers row of the laptop.

Using an external numeric keypad with Jaws and encountering some problems
Hello list,
I do a lot of number typing and because of this, I finally got tired of toggeling the numlock key on and off and forgetting what it was on. I decided to get an external numeric keypad and

Re: getting the mail ap in windows 10 to work with jaws?
Hi:
Thanks for those observations.
Things like this are why I advocate having more than one screen reader on a system.

Re: Can't access settings combo box in google chrome
when a button is pressed, JAWS should repeat the name of the button
followed by "pressed". maybe try refreshing the screen reading by
pressing insert+escape, or pressing and holding alt down, tab

Re: punctuation script and 2019 beta
Hi,
Yes, that is the script I am referring to and yes, under the beta I am unable to change the punctuation levels.
Maybe it would be worth me exportings the settings from 2018 and importing them

Mario:
This worked beautifully, though I don't know why. I still can't activate the buttons under settings. What am I missing? I can't tell if a button is pressed or not. Thanks for your help.

Re: getting the mail ap in windows 10 to work with jaws?
The Windows 10 mail app is compatible with JAWS, but it works much better with NVDA. For example, when I start typing an e-mail address in the to field, NVDA reads the suggested recipients that pop up

Thunderbird is easy to get going, especially for a common email. I don't remember the exact steps, but once you open it, it will likely ask for the email address you wish to configure, then
