In IE if I invoke the Control +l or O keystroke, type in for example,
blind-computing.com, & press enter or control + enter, IE will take me to
the webpage but, I have to put the, .com,

Control-l in IE does the same thing as control-o in IE and as control-l in
FF. So I've made a habit of using control-l for both browsers.
To clarify what I wrote before, pressing control-enter after

Skip both the http and ww prefixes and press control-enter after you type
the website name. I just checked with this address, and it worked.

I've been finding IE9 has been crashing a lot lately but I never put it down to JAWS. Not sure when it started, perhaps it was after the most recent JAWS update but I'm not sure.

If you don't like to hear the webvisum notifications, but you don't want to turn webvisum off, you just change jaws verbocity for firefox to advanced, and you forget about it. The problem with this is

Since installing the latest JFW, IE9 would hang, and sometimes crash.
Edit fields such as may be found on m.facebook.com wouldn't work in some
cases.

Is that with the latest version of JAWS? What problems are you having? I have noticed since the latest jaws update that the download manager doesn't seem to be working the same.

When I face similar reading problems, I convert the file to the simple text format, and then I reopen it in notepad. In Word, you can use "save as" dialogue to save the file as simple
