you can use Chrome on Windows 7 but JAWS 13 is not likely to work with
Chrome. JAWS 2018 is compatible with Chrome. Alternatively, you can try
NVDA and Chrome if you're not able to upgrade to JAWS

I asked Eric at his presentation to the NFB convention. His answer was that VFO will eventually release a new version but for now they are working hard on Jaws and some other things..

I joined the Openbook beta team in about 2004 or so, and there has not been any traffic on that group since Openbook 9.
I believe that was either late 2013 or early 2014.

JAWSKey plus the letter S and cycle through what JAWS will say. The choices

Paul, I have installed Chrome and you are right, it is much faster. I wish that I had discovered this a while ago and had all of that time back that I spent waiting for Firefox to download pages.

Shift+Alt+A is quicker in Chrome, as it always takes you straight to alerts. F6 means you sometimes need to cycle a few times to get there.
