John, You can still use the old shortcuts, if you can remember them. They will not open menus as you go, but they will get you into each of the dialogs. Font Alt+o then f separately Paragraph:

Not sure if you found your answer yet. My Toshiba lap top has a tiny button above the touch pad and below the space bar. It almost feels like it should be a tag of some sort. It is a toggle.

Crystal, In addition to OCR, you might want to see if the JAWS Graphics labeler can help you give names to those "missing" buttons. Position the JAWS cursor on one of the buttons and press Insert+G
