As far as I know Jaws 16 does not work with Chrome, but if you don't get a definite answer just call Freedom Scientific.
If you are a Jaws user you won't be able to stay on 16 forever, Jaws 2018

It all depends on whether you want to access a file or a program.
Usually companies have all their files on some sort of server so that they can be accessed from the various computers people

You would get an ip address on the work network, so if you had a file
server you could get files off of it, but you cannot run programs that
way. You may need both a vpn and the remote desktop

At the moment Firefox isn't doing good with Freedom Scientific's products so maybe you should Downgrade to a version that works. Google Chrome is becoming really great with Jaws in the latest

Hi there! Some companies use a VPn in addition to a Virtual Desktop infrastructure. You should not have problems accessing a VPN. If you need to access a computer remotely, you will need the Remote

have you tried deleteing your cookies and browseing history? but i think this will also delete your passwords too.

I don't think you need the remote desktop add on if you are using a
vpn on someones network. However, you might need it if you want to
log on to a computer on that network remotely.

Sorry, one more thing.
You mentioned a VPN. Remote Desktop is not actually a VPN. A VPN has to be set up between two VPN capable routers, one at home and one at your work or you can use a VPN client
