I had this exact same problem with an earlier version of Jaws 18 here.
I recently upgraded to Jaws 18.0.2945, and now, Convenient OCR works fine.
Not sure what the issue was with the earlier

I would like to read a pdf file with the Convenient OCR program. It is not working. I did it once on the first day I received my copy of Jaws.

Let's be clear on this. JAWS does not do any scanning. You need a separate software package and a scanner to scan in a photograph from a hardcopy.

I used to use the virtual ribbon, but I don't any more since I work with sighted employees as well and I also like to use keyboard shortcuts for the things I do most often which won't work with the

Well, I have OE partially set up. I can receive messages, but can not send them. The good thing is that I set it up for imap. If I want to reply to someone, I can use Thunderbird.

I started to use outlook express on my windows 10 machine; then windows came along with an update and removed it, along ith my address book and all my mail. We have no control any more, it seems.

I think what you want isn't in Firefox it's self but in the website setup.
If you are on the Google for instance there is a link that reads "Screen reader users click here to turn off Googal

I don't think you can get rid of the default search engine, but you can
change which one is used.
press alt to get the menubar, then t for tools, and o for options.
press the up or down arrow keys
